Pls my auto gurus help me! I hv a golf3 that rises in voice or accerating sound without me pressing d acceration pedal and when it does so the accerating meter on d speedomer don't return to normal until after some time. the last time a mechanic touched the caburator it got worsen-it was consuming fuel nd d smoke wz black.I waz forced to buy anoda caburator and same thing is happeng again. pls advice my auto experts |

Pls and pls Bros golf is a sensitive car, don't allow any mechanic to touch it anyhow, always make enquiry from volks users about a good mechanic before u open ur car for any repair, not all with mech cloths are mechs ooo, my motor oil (golf3) signal was just blinking on my way to ibadan I saw a road side mech to make an enquiry before u knw it the guy dn put hand for the kick starter side under, cos my car no polo engine, his hand melt some wires and blow up my kick starter components, get a carburetor specialist and take ur car there, make enquiry from people, I once experience this kind of a thing, even if u buy 10 carburetor it might give u the same result until they use one machine like dt to scan and set it. my golf 3 is doing hand starting,i have to turtle while starting it and this takes between 3 to 4 minutes to start. could carburetor be responsible for this.please gurus in the house help. |

Guys. I also have the same problem. though mine is 2.0 16V digifant injector system. It misses fire and at time it lose power total. Had to restart and everything comes back to normal. This occurs once in a while. Was thinking it was due to leaving it without driving for like 4months. Any help is highly appreciated. |

umbo: Not a symptom of a faulty fuel pump. Faulty fuel pumps would either not start or start and idle like there is a misfire then shudder or go off if you try to accelerate. This car accelerates 'too well' |

momahnany: Check your accelerator cable...from the pedal to the throttle link. Once you press, it must not be sticking but must return freely and completely. Also check that there is no vacuum leak. To test, buy a carburettor cleaner and spray in small bursts AROUND the carb. CAUTION. This is dangerous and must be done with extreme care. I accept no responsibility for any explosion, nuclear reaction, unwarranted abortion or change in government if you are not careful. Ensure your air filter is clean. Check your fuel filter and replace if dirty or has never been replaced. Get a good carb specialist to clean your carb. Poor preventive maintenance with proper filters will cause gunks to settle at the carb pins and cause erratic spray patterns. Watch "VW Golf Carburetor Adjustments.
