The 19-year-old Senior Secondary School student, Saka Ahmed also known as Ejo, of Gaskia College, Amukoko, Lagos, who allegedly stabbed a prefect, Saheed Jimoh, to death on Wednesday for punishing him over lateness, has been arrested by the police.

DAILY POST recalls that trouble started on Tuesday when 19-year-old Jimoh, who was a school prefect, punished Ejo, who only resumed for the term on Monday, for an offence he committed. The punishment meted out on Ejo resulted to a fight between the duo outside the school premises after closing hours.

However, he was said to have been arrested by policemen attached to Amukoko Division, in his hideout somewhere around the vicinity, at about 6.40pm on Thursday.

Also arrested earlier were six students of the college.

Before his arrest , DAILY POST reports that the suspect’s father was invited by the Police for questioning. At 2pm., he was still being interrogated by the police.

At the Gaskia College yesterday, normal school activities had resumed as students were seen in their respective classes receiving lectures.

Officials from the office of Educational Quality Assurance, Zone 14, were also sighted in the school, compiling reports of the incident.
The school Principal was not around, but a man who identified himself as the Vice Principal, was hostile to reporters, saying he was not authorized to speak to the press.

However, a student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “There are several cult factions in the school. It is an open secret that many students are involved in cult-related activities and the use of charms.

“One of the common charms used by some of the students is called ‘no touch blood’, which is a very poisonous charm that kills instantly when it comes in contact with blood. Perhaps, in the case of Saheed, his killer could have tried to test the potency of the charm,” the unnamed student added.

Another student speaking on the incident said, “He failed woefully and was supposed to repeat SSS 2. He was in the same class with the deceased, who was promoted to SSS 3. But he stopped coming to school.

“On Monday, his father brought him to school to see the principal; only for the incident to occur on Wednesday,” he added.

An undisclosed police source however, said that the case would be investigated to its logical conclusion.

This remind me back then during my secondary schools time, similar things like this happened. Seniors punishing the junior one's.

But usually they comes in groups.


After the punishment, u won't know who to avenge on, so we been the junior would mobilised in groups to attack them back.


It was always fun .


Because after the fight. Both the junior and the senior get punished by our school authority .


In that process they apologies to us.

We all became friends till toady .

What's wrong with my comment ? And yes I went to school.. A senior student was killed cox he punished his junior. It's 2015 and senior student still punish junior student ? that was my question. So my turn to ask you if you did go to school ?

And senior punishing junior is very common to all secondary schools.
