The Bayelsa state guber election is December 2015. The main contenders are Governor Dickson Seriake of the PDP and Timi Silva of the APC. Silva ruled once from 2007 to 2012 but fell out of favour with PDP power Brokers in Abuja.

The 2015 elections is battle of two unpopular candidates.. Timi Silva because of his alleged history with Coke and the manner in which he emerged as the flag bearer using violence to upstage the people's favourite Timi Alaibe and Dickson the current governor because of his poor record in his first tenure.. There is a also a certain Siasia of the PDM. He is young and smart but does not have finance like Dickson or Silva. Siasia is also a cousin of Former national team coach.

Timi Silva is from Brass and very popular in his area. Dickson is from Sagbama and also very popular in Sagbama and Southern Ijo areas.. The Bayelsa election is in December with than 5 weeks from today.

Governor Dickson says his allocation dropped from N18b per month to about N6b and that state owned airport is about 60% complete, Silva says he has come to correct the mistakes he made when he was governor from 2007-2012.

No Governor in Bayelsa has been able to complete two terms. Alams was impeached in his second term. GEJ did one term and was picked to be late Yardua's running mate. Timi silva did one term and lost his second term bid. Dickson is seeking for re election, if he wins, he will be the first Bayelsa governor to win two terms..
