President Muhammadu Buhari has scrapped the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) and ordered the Presidential Committee and workers of the agency to wind down operations. The AUTHORITY learnt that President Buhari's directive was conveyed to the SURE-P Committee headed by Mr. Ishaya Dary Akau as Chairman, through a letter from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal. SURE-P Scrapped by The Federal Government On Monday, The AUTHORITY had exclusively reported that the SURE-P office had been deserted by contractors, workers and members of the Presidential Committee because of non-funding by the current administration. There were also indications that the President has ordered a probe into their activities, funding and expenditure of the agency. SURE-P was established by former President Goodluck Jonathan to manage revenue accruing from the partial removal of fuel subsidy in 2012. Since Buhari entered office this has always been the news. scrap this and that, sacking in almost all ministry,embarrassment and intimidation. yet Nigeria don't have money. please where is all the money you have been saving from this. Buhari thinks like Bokoharam one direction and what pleases him and to me that is not a good president. Good you have scrapped the SUREP but my obvious question is what are you creating? |
