pls i have just bn invited for effective communication and writing skills in lagos this January but i dnt have waec,what i use is neco,pls frm ur interview experience would neco be considered? I want to knw so dat i dnt risky my life and transport to lagos from Jos, pls reply

Hi house..never knew sterling bank is stil sending out invitation for an Effective communications and writing skills test. I wrote the PBT at Enugu(Workforce)early dis month, and never got a feedback from them not untill this evening. Jst got a test msg frm dem inviting me for the writing test at Lagos nxt wk fri. Anybody in the same shoe?

Mine is Thursday but i dnt have waec ,i use neco so i dnt knw if the bank accepts neco in place of waec

I hv no idea abt dt...ders only 2 tings u hv to do here, try get in touch wit pple dt hv passd dis stage n knw if dey checkd n selected certificates...den 2ndly, whether neco or waec, jst b prepared for anytng..turn to God n stay positive.

If you have First School Leaving Certificate, then you are safe. I was successful without WAEC.

You will be allowed to write effective communications and business writing test. They won't check your credentials. You will only have to identify yourself by presenting int'l passport or voter's card or national id card etc. Then your name will be ticked on their attendance slip.

Note: you may be asked to present your credentials at other stage of the recruitment process but not this one. I also don't know if they accept waec in place of neco but you can ask after the test or call their hr (0127023008).

and where you asked for credentials at the venue asides the Valid ID they require?

I'm in Lagos already and just got the text now, and can't go back to pick my credentials at Abj before 7th...

Yes. Just got mine too. Wrote the PBT in Abuja. EC&WS is for 7th Thursday January

Kaka22, has sed it all. At diz stage, u definitely wont be askd for ur credentials...jst a means of identification. At d interview is wen ur credentials will be required and irrespective of wot u av in ur waec result...i'd advice u to take it along...reason bin dt it carries ur date of birth and i tink dey check dt to attest to wot ur real birth certificate says. #All d best.

thank u very much my boss, i dnt even hav waec at all,never sat for it thats d problem,and if i knw neco wil nt be considered during interview/documentation, then no need wasting t.p for communication skill test

Well, OCisa gave an exception...if u av ur primary schl cert, i guess dt also carries d DOB. So u can still make it for d test.

The effective communication and business writing test is simple. Just learn how to write memo and essay. There will also be ambiguity test, sentence correction etc. Questions on meaning of some words like pretext etc will be asked. Learn how to write the correct spelling of social media words like d, dat, dose, nd etc.

They want to test your understanding of English so if you are good with it, you have no problem . Best of luck in your test.

yeah Tanx, am in the same shoes as you, mine is the same day as urs. Wrote the test in Enugu and was invited. Do you stay in delta? Does anyone know where I can lodge at ikeja? I don't have anyone arround there. Please help
