A state of mourning has enveloped Ozalla community in Igbo-Etiti Council Area of Enugu State following the death of a woman and her daughter inside a water well.

A source told DAILY POST that though the dead body of the deceased persons, identified as Uche Nweze and her daughter, Ukamaka, were recovered from the well, there was still no hint as to how they fell into it.

However, the spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, DSP, Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the incident disclosed that four suspects had been arrested.
He stated that “investigations have commenced into circumstances surrounding the death of the mother and her daughter with a view to finding out the possible cause.

“No fewer than four suspects are helping the police in their investigations.

“Their corpses have been recovered and deposited at Zim Uzo Hospital Mortuary Igbo-Etiti for post mortem examination.”

In another development, one Ugochukwu Mba of Umulumgbe in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State has been nabbed for attempting to rob customers at a beer parlour with a locally made double barrel pistol gun.

However, according to Amaraizu, he was overpowered and handed over to the police by the community’s vigilante group.
