Moro/yakasai: A Belated Patriotism- by Naijacitizen(m): 7:04am On Nov 14, 2015

Recent outbursts by two key players of the sacked Jonathan regime, former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro and a "private consultant" to the regime, Alh. Tanko Yakasai could be said to be the clearest indicator of a rising desperation among a large army of political orphans left behind by the sudden albeit, very timely death of PDP.

In a well choreographed effort to distract the new APC regime led by President Buhari from purging Nigeria of the residual effect of the malfeasance and inequities of the sacked Jonathan led PDP regime, Moro and Yakasai seem determined to maintain the same tempo they maintained in the dying days of PDP to sustain the deadly misadventures of former President Jonathan and his coterie of jesters.

I can understand the pain of these clowns, however what I cannot understand is their inability to adjust to the new reality ruling Nigeria. So used to the old ways of PDP, the two seem convinced that Nigeria is a country that could only operate on lies hence, their problem with the new order that abhors lies. But for their PDP bloodline, why should these two have problem with President Buhari's confession about the true socio-economic status of Nigeria. I wonder how disclosing the the true picture of Nigeria to the global community could constitute an impediment to the investment drive of the new regime?

Perhaps, Yakasai and Moro, left far behind in the journey to a new Nigeria and operating with perverted, obviously reversed sense of restoration are yet to come to terms with the truistic reality of a Nigeria they aided Jonathan to degrade and leave behind while they smiled their ways to the bank. It is obvious these two cannot even come to terms with the most basic requirement of restoring a destabilized polity like Nigeria. Not that I expect the deadly duo to understand the role of honesty and sincerity in restoring confidence, especially to an abused country like Nigeria but, certainly I expect a combined reasoning as could be generated between the two to pass the pitiable level they constantly flaunt proudly in their seemingly eternal effort to sustain a cheap source of livelihood by trying to suck blood from the carcass of a dead PDP.

Paradoxically, while Yakasai and Moro are pointing a single finger at President, the effect of sudden power withdraw is blurring their sight from the four pointing at them. Who is Abba Moro trying to deceive with his belated evangelism when he move around with his hands soaked with blood of Nigerian youth who were victims of an elaborate scheme designed and executed by Moro which raked billions?

With half the newly found "conscience" he is exhibiting, Moro should be somewhere ruing the day he decided to use the desperation of Nigerian youth to dupe and subsequently kill them under the guise of employing them. In a decent polity, Moro will be flying below public radar to avoid insulting the sensibility of Nigerians with his continued presence in areas that, ordinarily, should be reserved for men of honor. Only day before yesterday Romanian PM and his cabinet resigned in a dignified expression of failure over the dead of 30 Romanian citizens in a nightclub fire inferno. In Nigeria, Moro is not only talking but, talking with the authority of Mandela/Mahathir/Lee Kwan put together because Nigeria is numb to leadership responsibility. Shouldn't Nigeria ship this fellow to Romania to access a tuition-free lesson or two in decorum and leadership consciousness?

Yakasai is a case beyond human imagination. Listening to him pontificating about ways to improve Nigeria, a community that Yakasai sees as anything but human, is as confusing as it's paradoxical. No one will argue that to Yakasai Nigeria is a giant carcass for old and exhausted vultures to feast on with minimum effort. A perfect description of "AGIP", Yakasai was a Commander of one of the brigades that fought the lost PDP war which success would have ensured the survival of scavengers feeding fat on Nigeria.

Yakasai played a very damning role in ensuring the continuity of the last "owambe" under which Nigeria was almost razed to the ground while his "Oga" and his "Oga's Oga" were dancing and insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians. He threw away all decorum and was hell bent on selling the Jonathan/Sambo deadly dummy to a resisting public. He capitalized on his advanced age and a poor reading culture among Nigerian youth to confuse the public about the fitness of Jonathan/Sambo to continue despite bombs exploding with reckless frequency even in his Kano backyard.

It's on record that Yakasai did everything, covert and overt to organize a force that was supposed to counter or neutralize any effort to sack the deadly GEJ regime. Today, GEJ/Sambo are out in the cold, their ATMs constantly "unable to dispense cash" and Yakasai is desperately looking for a solution for his revenue shortfall hence, his aimless shots aimed at just about anybody and anything. I consider these shots last kicks of a dying horse.

I'm happy they are alive today to witness a new Nigeria where age is a virtue and where elders don't behave like dealers. I pray, may Allah give them longer lives to witness a Nigeria they tried to deny us. Meanwhile, let's keep dancing to the music their rankings make in our ears.
