Indications emerged on Monday why the federal
government put on hold the conversion of four Colleges of
Education to universities by the then President Goodluck
Jonathan administration.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on the 25th anniversary of
the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE),
the Executive Secretary, Prof. Monday T. Joshua said
contrary to speculations, the federal government did not
reverse the policy.
He said, the policy was under going some form of vetting
process which was omitted at the initial stage of the policy
formulation.
"You don't just establish institutions like that like, it has to
follow the appropriate laws," Joshua told journalists.
