Oil magnate Femi Otedola is said to have tendered an apology to the Haruna Momoh family, following a feud which involved a sustained onslaught of attacks on the latter’s family in various sponsored media reports.

Momoh was relieved of his duty at the PPMC immediately Ibe Kachikwu was appointed the new sheriff at the NNPC, a move which was motivated by Otedola and his cronies who parroted unsubstantiated corruption allegations against Momoh, only as a result of his dogged approach towards stamping out Otedola’s grand standing with his companies in the kerosene subsidy scam.

The sustained corruption attacks and lavish lifestyle peddled by some aspects of the media (online) against Momoh have been a hatched plan by his adversaries, chief of whom is Otedola, to stain and distort his image to the general public.

Otedola is said to be heading for very difficult times with the new regime in place, and would rather have the ex-PPMC boss go down instead.

It started with a false alarm about Momoh’s arrest by the London metropolitan police on October 5, which went viral, and claims by certain agents that he was sighted entering Charing Cross Police Station.

This has since been dispelled by both the U.K Police and foreign journalists who were present at the police station on that day.

Following this unsuccessful attempt at damaging his image, Otedola sponsored some persons who claimed to be Momoh’s relatives, all in a bid to draw the attention of anti-corruption bodies in Nigeria and U.K.

The motive behind Otedola’s latest onslaught, is the imminent sale of the nation’s refineries, which the current administration has promised to carry out in confirmation to world standards of transparency.

Otedola’s acts are seen as media cleansing of his image, against Momoh who prevented him from leaking the country dry from his masked subsidy racketeering.

Otedola has been accused of illegally influencing behind the scenes occurrences in the build up to the sale of refineries while being implicated as a major figure in a huge $6.8 billion fuel subsidy fraud.

This led to several clashes between him and the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke.

When an investigative committee was launched against Otedola and other marketers, it was revealed that fraudulent occurrences as disclosed by the committee were lurid, but hardly shocking. The report confirmed public suspicion that the bloated expenditure on fuel subsidy was the latest scam in town.

It underscored how fuel marketers, a small cartel chosen by some of Otedola and allies, raked in billions of Dollars in illicit, fraudulent profits. The committee exposed the many schemes used to steal Nigerians to stupor in the name of fuel subsidies. See more http://www.post-nigeria.com/revealed-oil-baron-in-major-cover-up-scandal/
