Today November 22nd 2015 is that memorable time of the year again, when Catholics celebrate Jesus Christ as the King of Glory.

This Sunday in the Catholic calendar is The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King, it is the last Sunday of the Church year. Next Sunday will be the first Sunday of Advent and the first Sunday of the Catholic Church calendar worldwide.

The feast of Christ the King is celebrated in the Roman Catholic Church in honour of our Jesus Christ as Lord over all creation. This feast was created by Pope Pius XI in 1925. This is a medieval feast which uses the metaphor of "King", a powerful one in those days to describe the role of Jesus.

The Kingdom of God is the central teaching of Jesus throughout the Gospels. The word Kingdom appears more than any other word throughout the four Gospels. Jesus Christ began His public ministry by preaching about the Kingdom.

In Matt 27:37, Mark 15:26, Luke 23:38 and John. 19:19. We see the bible repeating the same testimony, Jesus, the king of the Jews as right as that may sound, the truth is Jesus is not just the king of the Jews but THE ETERNAL KING OF GLORY.

Christians, especially orthodox Christian celebrate this truth, today, the Mother church celebrates this solemnity in grand style

Do you know today's celebration as Corpus Christi or Christ the King? It doesn't matter really, the most important thing is that we celebrate it to the glory of God.

the procession is meant to be on the corpus christi day which is around june,but due to the fact that it is during the rainy season the african bishops decided to move it to the feast of Christ the King which occurs during the harmattan,that is what i heard,i am yet to research on how true it is..anyways happy Feast of Christ the King
