Dont get it twisted all,the mandate belongs to apc already,pdp can never be declared winner,either the deputy or the second runner up in the primary elections wud take up the mandate.the only case where pdp takes up the mandate is if the apc candidate was disqualified.

the elections is inconclusive,what we need to know is can his deputy continue with the election? This is a constitutional matter and I see lawyers from both parties heading to court soon.

Governor Wada will be declared the winner of the election if Audu cannot accept the result of his victory in the election from INEC latest one week after the election. Faleke could ve been declared the governor if only Audu was sworn in before his death.

Brother this is no case of untimely Death ooo. It's pure Destiny here ooo. Remember he was once the Governor of the state, so he was not destined to rule again after several attempt while the incubent Idris Wada has GOD's approval for another 4years just like how GEJ emerged as President after the Death of President Yar'adua. Hope you know that ordinarily GEJ would never have won in Nigeria going by the ethnic politics we play in Nigeria which ofcourse booted him out during his second term bid for another 4years where PMB now assume office as president after he openly said he will never contest any election again following his third time failure in the poll

This is what the constitution says:

section 181 of Nigeria Constitution state that
181. (1) If a person duly elected as Governor
dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of
Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for
any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the
person elected with him as Deputy governor
shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall
nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be
appointed by the Governor with the approval
of a simple majority of the House of Assembly
of the State. (2) Where the persons duly
elected as Governor and Deputy Governor of a
State die or are for any reason unable to
assume office before the inauguration of the
house of Assembly, the Independent National
Electoral Commission shall immediately
conduct an election for a Governor and Deputy
Governor of the State.


But, I have a problem here...simply because Audu has not been declared winner of the election before his death.....Does this means the entire election will be cancelled or INEC will assume APC didn't have a candidate or what exactly will happen
