Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, has been voted Seattle Sounders best player for the second consecutive season. The former Inter Milan striker also won the club’s Golden Boot award after netting 15 times to emerge the Major League Soccer side’s top scorer for the season.

Asiide scoring from vital goals for Sounders, Martin also notched up six assists in 21 appearances for the club despite spending two months out injured.

Obafemi's stunning rise to prominence in American soccer has earned him a place in the Super Eagles squad with coach Sunday Oliseh playing him in Nigeria's last two World Cup qualifier matches.

"Humbled again to be named team MVP. However, all credit due to my teammates and coaches. Already focusing on 2016," Martins wrote on Twitter.

I personally think ObaGOAL has been the most consistent and hottest SE striker around in the past two seasons. Why is he not spearheading our attack?

Nice one for him and for the country.

I just hope he doesn't get 'too old'' before 2018 world cup. We would need his experience.
