This people keep getting this wrong to play to the gallery!!! Absolute recklessness; where in this world do u dish out things for free? Even the richest countries in the world cannot sustain it(free health).... they will only end up killing dat hospital as they(govrnment) will quickly abandon it...
If u Must why not champion a community enhanced health insurance scheme?
That way the community contribute a little and govt. A little, it's easier managed and sustained...

What are you sayingsaying.?.. Countries like Denmark have completely free health care. It is possible for an oil rich community to provide health care to its citizens as long as the service is controlled and optimised..
I'll admit it's a tough ask in Nigeria though.. We are bound to abuse it

What's the diff? Going abroad for treatment and bringing foreign doctors to our hospitals when we have thousands of qualified medical doctors in Nigeria. Inferiority complex will continue to keep us in the stone age...

Free treatments will not kill the hospital. What are tax payers money for? Nigeria's revenue can afford Nigerians basic amenities free of charge. Instead of free super-opulence lifestyle and wastage by few

I'm sorry for this generation. So called educated fellow hardly read the content of a post...... Jumping to conclusion based on catchy headline is the wrong way to go in interpreting a post.
Free medical examination is different from free treatment... The post also made us understand that drugs are not being dispensed yet because the pharmaceutical arm of the hospital is not yet functional.... So where does the treatment come from. Medical examination is different from treatment.
I believe the government has a proper plan on sustaining the hospital. In the whole, this is a laudable idea. Kudos to whoever conceive and conceptualize the idea to reality.

Don't just jump. Into conclusion bro, it is not a free hospital but they are only starting with free treatment.... I guess just to test the facilities there.

The evil-hearted that condemned His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio should immediately retract all thier aspersions and tender unreserved apologies.

The article says "for now, medical examination is free" it didn't say the hospital is going to be free... I wonder why some people just jump into conclusion without taking time to read and understand...

Our tax income as states is small. And oil that's major source of our income is reducing in price. I don't think there will be enough money to manage it. It's my opinion though and if we look at precedence, anything free is abused in 9ja.

oga,why do we like sitting on social media and criticising

Have you visited ibom specialist hospital
For once, give kudos to akpabio on the numerous projects.

Am from akwa ibom and i visit the state every two weeks.

The hospital will blow your mind. The project is massive.

Take a trip to akwa ibom state and you will be taken aback.

From the hospital, airport, stadium, ibom tropicana, good road network, power project, elibrary, ibom hotel and so many projects that has made the state to be one of the most beautiful state if not the best.

Hospital that is employing 120 medical doctors.Until you see the hospital physically, thats when you can make judgement.

Please lets encourage our leaders instead of always running them down.

As for Akwa ibom state with it being the highest oil producing state in nigeria and the highest receiving revenue state in Nigeria, the impact is well felt.

Akwa ibom ayaya.

Meaning akwa ibom is too beautiful

Ask anybody from that state, they will tell you they are proud of the infrastructural development in the state.

Even Fayemi, the former governor of ekiti state and now minister of solid mineral resource in his ministerial screening that what he saw in akwa ibom made him to embark on some projects.

You can imagine that.

Please lete commend Akpabio for a job well done.We just pray this current governor will sustain it.

Bro,remain bless

Foolishness.

The money they won't put into the proper training of Nigerian Doctors will now be used in paying foreigners.

where in the world do non-indegines take up these roles.
