Now You Can Upgrade Your HND To B.sc. 2.2, 3rd Class Degrees Too. by zicoy6k: 8:13am On Nov 28, 2015
This new development by Kwara State University is nice. If you are not satisfied with the class of degree (2.1, 2.2 or third class) or kind of degree (HND, B.Sc. in different course) you have, you can change that through KWASU's HND topup programme. Isn't that nice.

Admission into TOP UP Degree and HND Conversion Programme

OBJECTIVES
The KWASU HND Conversion programme addresses the dichotomy between B.Sc. and HND certificate holders. The major aim is to provide a level playing field, by way of Bachelor’s degree programme, to HND holders determined to beat discriminations in the world of work. This programme also provides a platform on which a university degree holder, hitherto dissatisfied with his/her class of degree, could “top up” and come out better. In the same vein, a holder of University degree who may wish to cross into other related discipline is afforded the opportunity through this programme. Ultimately, the programme is designed to promote self-actualization and imbue professional fulfillment with dignity.
PROGRAMMES
1. B.Sc. Accounting
2. B.Sc. Banking & Finance
3. B.Sc. Business & Entrepreneurship
4. B.Sc. Computer Science

7. B.Sc. Public Administration
8. B.Sc. Library & Information Sciences

Please I have a question.
If one successfully top up his HND to BSc with a recognized school in Nigeria, how possible can you proceed to master abroad ? The reason for my question is this, I read in one school in Canada that for you to be considered for masters, you must have BSc with study period of not less than 3yrs.

My fear is that, if you top up in 2yrs, won't this be reflected in your result and thereby falling short of the above threshold?

Please a well informed individual should clear me on this.

Don't be deceived by the name, the program is like DE full time but with weekend timetable Fri 3pm - Sun 4pm.

It's a 3-yr 6 semester program compressed to 2-yr 6 semester program.

You will convocate together with your regular full time set and if you are "hardworking", you can emerge as the overall best student just as students from the program have emerged as the overall best students for the past two convocations.

Like regular DE program, you must register and pass all GNS courses from 100 to 300 level. Those GNS courses could be annoying!

Your transcript will be in the same format like regular DE program in engineering so, fear not!

Lastly, I strongly encourage you to enroll for the program as an advice from a fellow EE student.
