Black Friday Is A Scam??? Share Your Experience Here! by Nobody: 12:27pm On Nov 28, 2015
I had my eyes on five online stores.
Konga
Jumia
Payporte
Dealdey and Kampke
And I was looking to buy either of this:

-Christmas gifts for my family.

-Female clothing: Everything in my
wardrobe sucks! Sometimes I feel like
packing all my clothes in a suitcase to
dump it in the middle of the road for
whoever wants to have. Sometimes I
secretly pray for my clothes to be stolen
whenever I sundry after washing. I need
a change of wardrobe, and I was looking
forward to seeing my favorite instagram
wears for N600. Abi? They said 90
percent off. Don’t blame me.

Smart Phone: In the event I am unable to
get clothes. I wanted to get a Techno or
Infinix smartphone for my brother. He’s
been using a battered phone bounded by
a rubber band for a long time and I am
really inclined to surprise him.

Iphone6: Iphone 6 sells at 200K. They
said up to 90% percent up. ‘You better be
ready, you better be fast. I had my N20K
ready.

The first brand to roll out black Friday
deals was Kampke. That was three days
ago. Usually I visit Kampke just to feed
my eyes cos they have the finest female
fashion items in Nigeria but their prices?
Don’t even dream it.

When I first heard they were rolling out
Black Friday deals, that was last week, I
bookmarked the pages of items I have
been eyeing for months. Two flat sandals
from zara which sold at N6999. On
Wednesday, I went to take advantage of
their new deal.
Former Price: N12000;
New Price: N6999
Same with their dresses! No change at
all. I will not scream and shout cos that
oversized N12,000 gown from God knows
where has reportedly been slashed to
N6,500. No, I will not.

As at this morning, the so-called black
friday prices are still reflecting. If those
deals were genuine, they would have
been in a hurry to revert them to their
former prices.
Payporte

Payporte was the second. I have never
shopped with them but when I went to
try my luck, I noticed that the 80% off
items were suddenly out of stock. While
the items I wouldn’t even buy for my
enemy showed ten naira price
difference, literally. As at this morning,
they claim their entire stock are sold out.
Who bought them?
I guess I am just a hater.

Dealdey
I visited Dealdey to check their Friday
deals. The first thing I saw on the
homepage was a service offer from
someone who usually braids hair for
N8,000 but has slashed the price by fifty
percent to N4,000. I quickly hit the exit
key.

Konga
I haven’t bought from Konga before but I
have read and heard nice reviews about
them.
And I was hoping to write the 99999th
awesome review by Friday night. But
then, shit happens.
If I spent eight hours on the internet on
Friday, I gave Konga five of those hours
and noticed that.

-Those deals in their fashion page do not
look slashed in any way! Prior to that, I
KNOW THE PRICES OF EVERY ITEM ON
THE FIRST PAGE OF THE CLOTHING &
SHOES CATEGORY WHEN SORTED FROM
LOWEST PRICE.
-I am a size 6. And I could not find size
6 items.

-Same with shoes. I have very tiny feet
and when I settled for one item just so I
could review the experience here, the
delivery price for a yaba address was 80
percent of the cost price and there was
no pickup option.

I really like Konga but I am mad and I
feel I do not deserve it. And looking at
their banner on my sidebar annoys me
so I have taken it off and I have forfeited
all my accumulated earnings.
That space is vacant to a more
appreciate brand.
Jumia

Finally Jumia. I am TeamJumia. Never
had a bad experience shopping with
them. And even when other online stores
were fooling with me, I was calm cos
Jumia Black Friday was only few hours
away.
I refreshed 12:00am on the dot. Site
didn’t load. And when it finally did by
12:28am, all items were appearing
without images. I refreshed a couple of
times and same thing until 2am. 503
error mostly.
Eventually, I was able to
land on the flash sale page. I ordered for
infinix hot 2.
YAY! God win! It was in my cart! I added
a hair dryer and two dresses for my
mum and went to cash out but met an
empty cart. Next second, it was out of
stock!
Same thing with the Techno phone later
in the day, this time I went to cash out
immediately but landed in the homepage
with an empty cart! I ended up opening
4 jumia accounts yesterday yet I wasn’t
able to buy one item.
I visited other random stores and
laughed at their so called Black Friday
deals in comparison to online stores
abroad. This thing is overrated in
Nigeria and it might take another 365
days before I go back on my word. Let’s
see what Cyber Monday in Nigeria has to
offer.

When u see from 90% it simply means this can get as low as 90% off. Not all. And most will be 5% off
