A major company in Nigeria is in need of a Finance Officer for their Port Hracourt Office. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role will provide support on business planning, financial operations, financial reporting, accounting, accounts payables, expense management and cash control processes. The candidate must have and be able to demonstrate very strong analytical skills combined with some knowledge of financial analysis and management tools and best practices. The candidate will be technically very proficient and will be expected to support core business functions and processes in the subsidiary. MAIN ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
 Monthly variance analysis of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow to plan, current forecast, and prior year
 Financial Accounting
 Monitoring and developing Financial accounting controls
 Managing subsidiary allocations
 Assist in the creation and enhancement of budget, and forecast models
 Assist in maintaining & updating current forecast
 Month end closing and reporting
 Expense management and reporting
 Cash management
 Assisting with tax and audit processes
 Liaising with external parties like Banks, suppliers e.t.c.
 Maintaining the fixed asset log, and purchase order systems
 Account reconciliations
 Ad Hoc Analysis

JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance
 ICAN, ACCA, CIMA (or similar) student or qualified

EXPERIENCE:
 At least two-three years’ hands-on all round experience working in a Finance/Accounts department

 Some knowledge of statutory reporting requirements will be a bonus
 Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
 Ability to interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
