Ambassador: Senate confirms Adeniran

Senate yesterday confirmed nomination of former minister of Education and one-time Nigeria's Ambassador to Germany, Professor Tunde Adeniran, for another ambassadorial appointment.



Adeniran is slated to replace General Oluwole Rotimi (rtd), as Nigeria's Ambassador to the United States of America (USA).

His confirmation was done shortly after report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on his screening was presented and considered in the Committee of the Whole.

The Upper House also confirmed nomination of Dr Casmir Anyanwu (husband of Senator Chris Anyanwu), as member of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

His confirmation was consequent upon the report of the Senate Committee on National Planning, Economic Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, which recommended him for approval.

Also yesterday, the Senate referred nomination of Dr Adewunmi Abitoye (Southwest), by President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, as a member of the Board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) to the Committee on Establishment and Public Service.

He is in Nigeria. A court is Maryland sought to serve him papers in his case with Attorney Emeka Ugwuonye. He is said to have escaped court summons as they could not find him in Florida

Emeka Ugwuonye is the attorney handling the Nigerian embassy house sale. He had problems with Rotimi and is suing him for defamation.

How did Rotimi defame him. Rotimi definitely is already in Nigeria, Emeka can fill in for plaintiff and defendant in court. No be only defamation. Yeye man.
