Following the nullification of the 5th term election of former Senate President, David Mark by the Appellate Court, the campaign team of the ousted legislator have flooded the city of Otukpo with iodized salt, rice and tin tomatoes.

This is just as the Akpegede-born retired soldier has also commenced work on four different roads in the heart of the city.

A source told DAILY POST that among the roads billed for reconstruction are Otukpa, Owukpa and two others dominated by Idoma enone (west).

Mark has been facing criticisms for refusing to attract develop to the area, which is populated by most of his political rivals.

DAILY POST gathered that the road construction begins today, December 1 and are expected to reach completion before Christmas. The project is under the supervision of a certain Hon. Abel.

“As we speak, they have blocked Otukpa, Owukpa roads. The work is expected to start today, December 1 and reach completion before Christmas. We wonder where they have been,” the source said.

The rice crested with Mark’s picture and inscriptions that read, “Vote back senator Mark. If we retain him, the nation will retain us,” were apparently reserved after the general elections.

Already, Mark’s campaign team has been busy distributing the food items to residents of Otukpo.

It was gathered that while some rejected the ‘Greek gifts’ others accepted them and thanked the Okpokpowulu for remembering them.

Mark and Onjeh are expected to return to the polls after the Court of Appeal sacked him for rigging his way in.

for the first time I went to benue state I was really wondering if David mark was from that state. I mean the bad roads in otukpo, otukpa name it + d terrible pot holes. finally you just remembered u came somewhere. Please the idoma's should vote wisely

PDP art of stomach infrastructure. David has learned the art from his party. This is just an act of desperation. By standard he suppose not campaigning with rice or food item, what he suppose to be using to campaign now should be his work for the past 16 years in the senate. Sixteen years is not one year that he should not be able to point to one or two project that should benefit his senatorial district or probably providing employment for his people. If truly he's sharing these food stuffs, then he has not represented his people well because his work should be his campaign strategy.
My advise to people of his district and Benue as a whole is that is you manage to stubble to his food stuff, even if you're of other political party, please don't hesitate to collect yours, is part of your money that he refused to use to better your senatorial district and state. Please mobilise people to collect the food stuffs as many they can but during the election, vote with your conscience.
