I am quite certain the naira will hit 300 or perhaps 320 at the parallel market on or before 2019

I am apolitical but just saying it as I see it.

Only the government begins to implement pro-market policies rather than the statist and command policies it presently adhering to, the nation will suffer economically

The rate is already 242 and the official rate is still a misleading 197.

The sooner government devalues the naira and narrow the disparity and implements reforms to encourage inflows of forex, the situation will get grimmer.

Government next year will implement an expansionary budget which will only increase inflation rate and a further loss of naira value.

You are wrong sir. Naira will hit 300 per dollar before June 2016.
As at today, it stands at 248 naira per dollar. It will definitely hit 260 naira per dollar before year end 2015.
And as long this current FG continue with its current policies and CBN policies continue to stifle cash flow.... then 300 is within sight

Thanks for your response. I am not that pessimistic! But you and I are on the same page in respect of the present economic policies and the perpetual devaluation of the naira

2019 is too far.

By January 2017, naira will exchange for dollar at N300.

Quote me by that date.

Nigerians will kick out BuAari if he dares contest. again. Dunce things.

By 2019, Dollar should be N400.

Which foreign investor will bring money into Nigeria now with the current CBN policies on cash restrictions ?

Why are Nigerians growing poorer for the first time since 1999 ? Even during the 2008 economic bubble, Nigerians never suffered.

Counter his points and stop being sentimental..

The economy is doing badly. That's the sad truth. Many industries are being forced to close shop because they are being denied access to foreign exchange. The situation will only get worse if the government does not take proactive measures

Are you aware that the only solution to the issue you just raised is for the CBN to remove the forex restrictions and then officially devalue the naira from N197 to about N250?

And then we will scream again that Buhari has devalued the naira.

The earlier you devalue and accept reality, the less steep the size of the devaluation initially. A stitch in tie saves nine.

The reason is obvious. At 197, nobody wants to bring in money and sell at that rate thereby worsening the rate at the parrallel market. It worsens the scarcity while the overpricing increases demand.

A quick devaluation encourages an influx of dollars especially if other proactive measures are included such as a slash in company taxes to like 15%.

If it likes, let it reach 500 per dollar. The only thing we need to do is ensure that the standard of living of our citizens is improved.
