The Basic DOS & DON'TS Of Color Blends For Fashion Lovers by dezisellng: 5:38pm On Dec 03, 2015
Need advice on how to blend colors for your clothings? You just might want to get this basic knowledge to avoid looking clownish when you step out next time. wink

Nigerians love fashion and they love to show off a beautiful and divers range of colors in the thirst to look really good and stylish. But how do you match up the colors in the best way you can to stand out and not to look clown like and a subject of attraction for  showcasing wrong color blend or having a really horrible wardrobe malfunction.

Depending on how you adopt colors in your fashion style they could go really perfect or very bad indeed.

As a Fashionista and a Nigerian, how do you follow the color rules to get the right blends of matching outfits? You sure cannot mix all the colors together just like you cannot have every kind of food in a dish for breakfast. The outcome would be "Hell No Disasterous"

Here are some quiet basic dos and donts in clothing color mix. Learn them apply it and look vibrant when you step outside this season. It's good to be creative with colors but never overdo it.

• Never dress in more than 3 colors. It's vital that you don't. But if you must add an additional 4th color ensure that one of them is either black, white, grey, navy blue, brown. These are flexible and neutral colors and can adapt to any outfit. You really don't have to follow the entire rule book, but if you're not a pro, better to play safe.

• Mixing jewelries of multiple shades and colors isn't also advisable. To look simple, one color shade is best and recommended.

•If you decide to wear the Ankara, Tie and Dye, Adire which is printed in varying rich colors, you must keep the rest of your accessories such as your shoes, bags and head gear simple and in one color piece so as not to look like a fashion rebel.

• If your getting confused about how to match colors, let's keep it simple, wear more of one color and keep the rest neutral. e.g white t-shirt, green blazer and brown chinos trousers is just okay for men.

• For Africans with Dark skin, it is necessary to know what kind of color would make you look bold, vibrant, and classic. Yellow, pink, orange, blue etc are the bold and right colors blends for dark skin Africans.

• For men clothings, warm colors such and red , orange and the likes in different shades and combination would stand out for dark skinned men

• Brown Color for dark skinned individuals can also be good to compliment the skin tone if worn in the right shade with the right color combination by using neutral colors to compliment it.

•Using Brown color could be tricky because most supposed black people are not absolutely black but come in varying composition of dark shades just like white people have their own varying shades of white.

•Dark skinned individuals should reduce the intensity of black , navy blue and intensely deep color shades  in their outfit by keeping it to a minimum. If they must put it on, a lighter shade alternative would be best.

• Lighter skinned  Nigerians  are encourage to wear black, pink, blue, navy blue, brown etc but they must avoid putting on red, dark brown and very deep shades of green or at worse yellow. Purple and Orange are also not an advisable for those who have light skin.

Whatever color you pick and however you decide to dress is solely the choice of the individual but a little creativity in the right direction wouldn't hurt at all. Never over do it.
