Zanzibar is a beautiful Tanzanian Island renowned for its huge supply of spices like black pepper, cloves, cinnamon and nutmegs reinforcing its place as a part of the “Spice Islands”. Zanzibar has since metamorphosed into one of the most coveted island destinations in the world. The ideal place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway due its unique culture, its many unspoiled beaches and a sophisticated blend of Indian, African and European culture.
1. Pemba Island:

Visit the beautiful Pemba Island also known as the Green Island which makes up a part of the Zanzibar Archipelago, the island lies within the Indian Ocean and is a part of the Spice Island. It has a rich fishing area and is the highest producer of cloves in Tanzania which is one of Zanzibar’s major source of export earnings.
The island is often frequented by divers who come for the untouched coral and very diverse marine life.

2. Old Dispensary:

The Old Dispensary popularly called the Ithnashiri Dispensary is a historic building located between the Palace Museum and harbour. It is one of Stone Town's major tourist attractions with a small museum about the history of Zanzibar. It served as a dispensary of the most part of the 20th century. It stands as a symbol of Zanzibar Island’s cultural heritage and a blend of richly diverse architectural designs. The building is sophisticated with mainly Indian influence and European neo classic taste.

3. Old Fort:

The Old Fort is Stone Town’s oldest and major tourist attraction. It was built in the 17th century by Omanis to defend Zanzibar Island from the Portuguese. The fort has an amphitheatre now used for entertainment purposes in the evening, a tourist information corner, a restaurant and a courtyard used as a cultural centre art works and paintings.

4. Hamamni Persian Baths:

The Baths were built by Shirazi architects for Sultan Barghash bin Said to be used as public baths between 1870 and 1888. The building housing the baths have a complex structure made up of several rooms, toilets, hot and cold baths, shaving areas and a restaurant. It was only used by wealthy Zanzibaris due to the token required before access was granted. The Baths have since been out of use but are open to tourists to see.

5. House of Wonders:

The House of Wonders also known as the Palace of Wonders is a major tourist attraction in Zanzibar. It is Stone Town’s largest and tallest building, it lies across the Forodhani Gardens on the old town's seafront on Mizingani Road. It is located between the Old Fort and the former Sultan's Palace, it is one of six palaces built by Barghash bin Said on the site of the 17th-century palace of Zanzibari queen Fatuma. The House of Wonders is home to the Swahili Coast and the Museum of History & Culture of Zanzibar.
