Its rather unfortunate that there was an attempt on his life as stated in the story but I must say, there is no cohesion to this story. Looks more as a fiction to my comprehension, all the same,if this is true then we're on a long ride.

While I can Not confirm this story myself BUT I know Abuja Airport well.... what I think first of all is that they are SSS operatives on sort of a covert operation ... that is the only way they would have made it through without a gunshot as per the Escorts may have recognize them as such ....also, they wouldn't have made it to the NAIA because there is a team of Air Force operatives just before you enter the airport ... while it is very likely they attempt to follow him to the departure, the airport security had all reasons to help them protect him .... and for the hilux to leave the airport again without been arrested at least on their exit or at the military check point on the express way only mean that they were truly SSS operatives running a covert ops else, they would have alerted their men stationed in the airport to work for his blockage before arrival at the departure wing unless otherwise the whole story is a lie.

Okpala said further, “As my boss alighted to board the aircraft, the same people again tried to reach him, possibly to execute their motive, but the airport security now joined his security details to subdue them before Tukur was quickly rushed to the departure hall.”
... And Okpara claimed no arrest was made. Story for the gods undecided.

Loans were collected to upgrade our railway system and all we can show for it are 1962 locomotive engines and uncompleted rail lines. Somebody needs to explain how the loan was spent.

The House of Representatives adhoc committee investigating the alleged N1.69trillion Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) contract scam is set to summon the immediate past transport minister, Alhaji Umar Idris, and two former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmen, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, and Bamanga Tukur, to explain their roles in the contract.

Also, the current management of the ministry of transport, Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), and the contractors are to appear before the adhoc committee at a public hearing at a yet-to-be announced date.

“The $841million loan secured from China Exim bank and SURE-P were not properly documented as there was no board for almost two years and the ministry single handedly spearheaded the award of all the major contracts.

“The adhoc committee will ask all the stakeholders how come a contract that was so heavily funded could not be completed in 2013 the contract due date,” a House member preferring anonymity and privy to the investigations and planned summon disclosed yesterday.

Last Wednesday, the House resolved to investigate rail project rehabilitation from 2010 to 2014.

The resolution by the House followed a motion titled: “Need to Investigate the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Nigeria Railway Corporation on the Award of Contracts for Rehabilitation of Railway Tracks, Maintenance of Bridges and Procurement / Rehabilitation of Coaches and Locomotives From 2010 – 2014,” sponsored by Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi.

“The level of performance with respect to the 463km Port-Harcourt – Markurdi rail track rehabilitation of the eastern line with the total sum of N19, 963, 752, 330 and out of which the NRC has paid N4, 017, 054, 841, 00, while SURE-P paid N5, 594, 021, 377 and only about 3km of ballast has been done with 400km left undone and the total money released so far is N9, 611, 076, 218.

“The Abuja – Kaduna rail project had 841 million US dollars as the project cost, out of which the China EXIM Bank provided a loan of 500 million US dollars with about 25 per cent of the project completed when the entire project was envisaged to be have been completed in 2014,” Ahwinahwi (Delta/PDP) reported in lead debates.

The lawmaker also said that the Lagos to Jebba track rehabilitation project was awarded at a contract sum of N12, 293. 390. 000 with the payments made so far at N11, 699. 999, 218 without any tangible work done adding that the same also goes for Jebba to Kano track rehabilitation which had a contract sum of N12, 169. 237. 337 with payments made to the tune of N10, 337. 023. 111.

He said that the investigation is important because with the huge funds sunk to upgrade the railway transport system there has been little to show for it as the locomotives and coaches running on the country’s tracks are still a relic of modern railway transport.

This seems more like an attempt to arrest because killer don't argue with security personnel they shoot them.

I see Tukur being arrested soon.

killers argue with police escort and security at airport but walked away in a tinted hilux tongue

Don't mind them, imagine not a single gunshot from both side? Seems someone is trying to buy sympathy before he's named in the arms scam or was it not he's son that was also involved in the subsidy fraud? Criminals!

What will it profit them if they kill a man who singlehandedly sank PDP?

And the amazing thing is that many gullibles will swallow this poo. Men in one hilux against men in four jeeps.

While they were demanding the door be opened the security men in the jeeps were standing akimbo watching? Then he got away. Back in the airport the men came again. At the end no arrest was made.

In Fela voice, second base joor!

I think we also need to sponsor a bill at the national assembly against false alarm of assasination and attack by our politicians and public office holders with a minimum of 5 year jail term.

Then all these nollywood scripts will stop......Rubbish!!!

Okpala said they have notified the police of the development, but added that no arrest has been made.

The bolded make me laugh. grin grin

The attackers were subdued but not arrested.

It seems "assassination attempt" thing is a way pdp people use to try to get attention nowadays. grin

Hope we are not back to obasanjo time where there were many political killings.

So we are back so soon to this type of stories. Anyway I'm not surprised I have always known that state elimination is part and parcel of their characteristics, I haven't forgotten how they sponsored an international plot to put a politician in a crate and extradite him illegally back to Naija.
You guys ain't seen nothing yet. expect the unthinkable.

The silence so far surrounding the alleged attempt on Ekweremadu's life both from the government and the ever screaming PDP/Metuh gives me very great course to believe the whole thing was a big lie. Had what happened really happened as explained by Ekweremadu et al, they would have milked the incident for all its worth.

This is what you see when people make comments without reasoning... I want to ask-
1. If the security details attached to Tukur can overpower the so called assailants, why were they not arrested?

2. If the van used was damaged as alleged ,how did the attackers able to still follow Tukur to the airport?

3. How come none of them was arrested when the airport security joined his own to overpower them at the airport?

Pls tell another lie.. this one no sell.

This is one of the reasons l missed Jonathan, in his 5 yrs plus tenure, they were rear cases of politically motivated assasination. 'MY AMBITION IS NOT WORTH THE BLOOD OF ANY NIGERIAN'.

They blew Azazi out of the sky. Jonathan himself had close relatives kidnapped, Okonjo Iwealla had parents kidnapped. Dieziani had parents kidnapped. This proves again that telling lies is the only common characteristic of Jonathan supporters . You need to be a liar to think JoNathan was a good president.

My ambition is not worth the Blood of any Nigerian but the money that should be used to procure arms for our soldiers was diverted to Jonathan election campaign and our soldiers were running for their lives when they ran out of bullets and boko haram had an open day maming, killing and kidnapping angry
These issues consumed more blood.
