FG approves 2015 promotion exams for workers
The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (AgHCSF), Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita.
The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (AgHCSF) Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita has approved the conduct of the Year 2015 Promotion Examination Exercise for officers on Salary Grade Levels 06-13 in the pool of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The exercise scheduled to take place on Thursday 17th December 2015 at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) is contained in a Circular tilled “Year 2015 Promotion Examination For Officers on Salary Grade Levels 06-13 in the Pool of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation” and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office in the OHCSF, Mr. Innocent Ogbonnaya.

A spokesman of the OHCSF Mohammed Manga said the circular was issued to all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government, the Head of Service and that eligible officers on Grade Levels 06-13 must have spent a minimum of two and three years respectively on their present grades by 1st January 2015.

"The Circular further advised eligible candidates to attend the screening and accreditation exercise beginning from Monday 14th December 2015, at the Public Service Institute of Nigerian (PSIN), from 8.30am to 4.30pm, with one passport size photograph, the original and one photocopy each of staff identity card, Letter of First Appointment, Evidence of Confirmation of Appointment, Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age and Letter of Transfer, Conversion, Absorption or Regularization if applicable.

"Other documents required for the exercise, the Circular states further, include Letters of last two promotion and Academic credentials," Manga said.

Does that mean office of head of civil service does not keep proper record of its employees? I think it is high time government agencies computerised staff records.

You are absolutely right but you can't blame them for requesting for such. The process of automation in most of government agencies are capital intensive.

I guess all civil servants have their records in files at the head of service's office. This is how they give room for age falsification, certificate forgery and the rest "chuwa-chuwa" that goes on in our civil service.
