Buses that were suppose to convey People to the venue of the carol night that was hosted by the Rivers state government were close to empty as Rivers people shunned what the PDP termed Carol night Despite huge financial inducement. It is however believed that the so called "Christmas Carol" that is being organised by Rivers state government is a plot by the Rivers PDP to drum up support for Bar. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike. However, Christians in the state stood their ground Despite the financial inducement and low level of publicity the event has suffered. When Newscrystal.com visited the streets of Port Harcourt to get direct feelings of the masses, this was the reaction of some clergy men in Port Harcourt: "He doesn't belong to the Christendom, he has always been against us. He can't bamboozle us now. Let him follow after his gods", a powerful Port Harcourt clergy said. Another clergy thundered: "Someone should remind attendees of such Carol of mockery to remember the widows and families of those who lost their lives, as well as students that have been abandoned overseas and those that have been sacked by the Wike administration in their prayers" "They should also not forget to pray for Wike, and ask him to confess. I bet not too many people would be interested in such events. It is just a Carroll for Christ's sake.
