According to Sahara Reporters, two members of a local vigilante group in the community said the insurgents rode into the town on bicycles since Kimba, which is in Biu local government area, is remote.

Another member of the vigilante group, Isa Biu said: “The attackers rode on bicycles to invade Kimba. They had guns and they just opened fire on villagers.”

However, speaking to AFP, Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian assisting the military in fighting Boko Haram, said the number of casulaties is at least 14.

Kimba is about to 22 miles from Biu town, the biggest town in the southern part of Borno state.

According to Daily Post the insurgents killed 13 people and abducted eight others, at about 8.30pm. It was said to be the sixth attack in the area recently.

Umar Sani, a resident who spoke to Daily Post on the phone said: “They burnt down our houses, killed our brothers and abducted our children. We are close to Sabon Gari and there are military there at Sabon Gari but they could not come to our rescue. Many people have been wounded. About 17 are currently being treated in Biu. We have lost 13 people and they took eight with them.”

Those are microscopic and insignificant attacks the government are not going to be bothered about those ones

The media are keeping quiet because it is a pact reached between them and FG to henceforth be doing so. Remember the killing of 105 soldiers by BH, the military denied it and the media equally kept mute. Thousands of soldiers are being buried daily in this fight and media is a collaborator in non reportage

The media houses are not fools. They knew where we are today was caused by an incompetent President. They know it will be foolhardy to blame a new government for the rot caused by the past government. They could see the sincerity, honesty, determination, effort and zeal put by the current government to combat the issue.

I think it is not a bad approach. Too much importance was given to the insurgents and they thrived on it. However, let our attention be diverted to other things whilst the military handle them proportionately. When they noticed we do not feel concerned, they shall surrender.

By denying it never happened or playing tg ostrich on the attacks dies not in any way invalidate that it didn't happen.

Why the cover up?

Trust me, that is the exact kind of attitude that led them to bomb the UN building in Abuja!! It will only enbolden Boko haram to do more; and it will encourage the incumbent government to get lazy and do less!

Government can always deny or pretend that its own citizens were never attacked; but when foreign diplomats or Nationale's are attacked, denial equals complicity!!

When Buhari came into power; the first - and the most foolish - security call he made was to remove all military check points in Nigeria, including the entire North!!

What he didn't know was that, the very model adopted by the Military in crafting these checkpoints, as well as the framework for supervising them and parleying with the local community as a means of gaining intelligence and ensuring smooth communication between "Protector" and the "protected"; which resulted in the various STF's and JTF's in the north was designed Da Jonah Jang - the former governor of plateau state - (who happens to be a retired Airforce Air Commodore)!!

He ordered their removal, and all hell broke lose: multiple attacks, clashes with no line of defence except our weak police, increased spate of suicide bombings - even Jos that is highly dominated by Christians wasn't left out - the second time, he reordered their return but chose to do it outside the radar of the media!

Question!! Did General Muhammadu Buhari apologise for the lose of lives that resulted from that reckless decision? The answer is no!!

Second Question! What has the government said so far about the additional 107 children that were adopted again in borno? The answer is nothing!

Why? The Media consciously placed it outside the radar!!
And yet, using the same Media, they - APC - gave Jonathan hell over the Chibok girls!!

The next question! How far will the government really go with this Media blackout in reporting specific issues and what hope is there for transparency and accountability if the government, armtwists the media into this kind of a nonchalance??

Your guess is as good as mine!!
