Running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the last governorship election in Kogi State, Mr James Faleke, over the weekend identified the implementation of Audu’s lofty campaign promises to the electorate in the state as his major priority.

This was as he praised the deceased All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for outlining various programmes aimed at rescuing the State from under-development.

Speaking at the 40th Day Fidaus prayer for the departed attended by no fewer than 80 Imams and Islamic prayer warriors at Ogbonicha, Audu’s hometown in Kogi State, Faleke bemoaned the untimely death of Audu, but promised the gathering that he would ensure the speedy fulfilment of Audu’s campaign promises should the courts rule in his favour.

The deputy governor-elect said his case at the tribunal was not based on self-interest, but to get back the people’s mandate, stolen from them, adding that he was in the best position to actualise Audu’s dream for the people of the state, having worked closely with him during the campaign.

Faleke, who vowed to utilise every legal means to pursue the people’s mandate, admonished the people to bear whatever inconveniences that might arise, as it would only delay, but that justice would be served in the end.

In his reaction, Audu’s eldest son, Mohammed, assured Faleke of the continued support of the family and the entire Igala people, as he goes about pursuing his mandate at the tribunal.
While eulogizing his father as an exemplary leader, he stressed that the Audu political family was solidly behind Faleke in his quest to recover the former governor’s stolen mandate through the courts.

“Faleke has the capacity to carry on my late father’s vision as governor,” he averred.

I am for power-shift in Kogi state and that has been achieved. So, i am owk with either Yahaya bello or Abiodun Faleke.
To Faleke, if you think you have a good case, kindly pursue it in the right way. Good luck!
