Morning Everyone..... I've got a kid sister that just applied for Jamb and decided to go for mechanical engineering... Now the thing is everyone she tells this discourages her from doing it.... they think it's mainly for the guys... so I'm asking, is mechanical engineering really for guys?? I'm not a science student though...

Anybody can study anything....there are ladies dat study engineering courses

No particular instruction states that any course is for a particular gender! If she's determined, she 'll make d best outta it!

Absolutely nothing wrong, the best mechanical student in my graduation set was a lady and she's already doing her phd both masters and phd together) best civil engineering student was a lady too (presently lecturing)..
She just needs to be diligent and hard working.

In as much as i agree with the fellows above that anybody can study any course an still excell...i also hope she has smart brain, cos mech is nt meant for dull people, esp the gals, u must knw calculations...in my class of abt 240 students, gals no reach 10...and the waffing no be here o...so, she must sit up, though @tyms it depends on d skul...gudluck to her.

I think she is.... been monitoring her since... I think she just has a little issue with chemistry... the rest is a go for her

berra, cos we do lil or no chemistry...except for sm courses like thermo and foundry.
