An error by his anaesthetist caused him to suffer a bronchospasm which starved his brain of oxygen putting him in coma. 33 years after, Jean-Pierre remains in coma attended to by his wife Bernadette. Born in Senegal, he migrated to France where started his football career rising to become an international player on the French football team. Jean-Pierre, now 67 has been in coma since he was 34.
