Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Dr Mohammed Haliru appeared in court on a wheelchair today, January 5.

Recall that the arraignment of Mohammed at a Federal High Court Abuja was on Wednesday, December, 30 stalled due to ill-health.

Mohammed, an ex-chairman of PDP and former minister of defense alongside his son, Abbah Mohammed are alleged to have aided in the diversion of funds slated for arms procurement by the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The charge sheet – a four-count charge – by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was scheduled for afore-mention on the day he appeared in court in December.

Abbah Mohammed is alleged to have received N600 million from Dasuki’s office on behalf of BAM Projects & Properties Limited, an Abuja-based realty company.

Abbah Mohammed was arrested by the EFCC on November 30 this year, along with Bashir Yuguda, who is the former minister of state for finance, Sagir Bafarawa, son of the former Sokoto state governor Attahiru Bafarawa, and Shuaibu Salisu, the director of finance in the office of the former NSA.

The FCT Federal High Court had directed Nigerian commercial banks to freeze the accounts of some suspects involved in the arms procurement scandal that has been traced to Sambo Dasuki, the former national security adviser.

I hope the efcc has a water tight case.

We are tired of its failure in high priority corruption cases. I have been beating this drum, if Chief Rotimi is unable to secure at least one conviction of these thieves.( from Dasuki to akpolobolemi to dokpesi) Then maybe is time to give way to another trial attorney.
Enough trial by media.

There has to be a performance benchmark.
In any private organization, the sort of failure efcc has had over the years, will lead to people being fired.
I saw one of the former governor recently who was on trial and acquitted spending money and looking fresh.
I think money is changing hands between some of these guys and the prosecution.

All these atrocities happened under the watchful eyes of both Jonah-daft and that witch Ngozi.
Only a fool will think these two aren't culpable.

With the way the wailing wailers were going, one would have thought that people with names that sound like Mohammed, Aminu, Nasiru, Abubakar, would never be prosecuted. Only persons with names like Chukwudi, Emeka, Anyim, Nyesom, Obinna, George, Daniel would be prosecuted. Wailers! I hate them. I feel like putting 1 million of them in a nerve gas chamber.
