The telecommunication companies have been making tremendous profit from Nigerians; and whether their services are standard, favourable and affordable is a topic for Sunday ..

Their end users have no option but to pay the standard price to be *online ..most are grateful for the medium to do their transactions, some enjoy their social network hook and other metchataram etchatram, while few grudginly pay to remain *comminicado ..

Because of the urgent need to be online, telecoms companies have devised flexible ways to satisfy their customers and make their transactions easier, safer and seamless..Notable amongst them include the use of ATM cards to recharge, e-top ups and *606#

.. apart from roadside sellers ..

These companies make 10% deductions as in the case of *606# for this wonderful service of advancing credit and to cover risk - Nice idea of making profit without having to go through the stress of serial and control numbers .. But when the credit becomes debit, the customers are forced to run to roadside sellers ..

These roadside sellers drive the market of the telecoms companies via the manufacturer<distributor<retailer<consumer distribution chain but they are poorly motivated, cheated and maltreated. Most of them end up wrecked and loose their capital because the pressure is always on their capital, while the telecoms companies smile to bank. .. What am I blabbing

..The prices of recharge cards to retailers are as follows :

N100 - 96/97 depending on the network ..
N200 - N192/194 .... ....
and so on. So, if you invest N10k in recharge cards, you make N300. This is poor, wicked and inhumane for these capitalists to exploit others to maximize their profit. Yes, you can argue that recharge cards sell faster than sex, but bread retailers get at least N10-30 for each bread depending on their size, N12-15 for each N50 bottled water sold, N15 for every N50 gala, N30 to N50 for each bag of satchet water and N3 for a N12.50k stick of Benson ..

Yet, paltry N3 for N100 card. If you notice, people are leaving recharge card business to divest in other things that yield bigger interest and this should worry telecoms company considering the huge risks on the (easy way) open printed cards as against sealed cards.

The card sellers have two options: a) To add a minimum of N10 to all card cadres ie N200-N210, N400- 410 ..

..Or leave the telecoms company to distribute it to customers themselves if they can't fix a reasonable price to favour their middle men.

Nonsense! angry

the most worrying part of it is that some of the retailers pay between #150-#250 as cost of transportation to buy recharge voucher. Smh
