Lagos 13.4 million? OP, which year was this data compiled?
Re: List Of Nigerian Cities By Population by warripekin(m): 4:00pm On Jan 07, 2016
These figures are wrong, asaba is not even there, agbo, ughelli, effurun, Udu/aladja etc all from delta are not there. Meanwhile Onitsha is more than 500k plus its adjoining cities. So also owerri. Poor job.
Re: List Of Nigerian Cities By Population by tpiah2: 4:03pm On Jan 07, 2016
I am 100% sure the only reason the op opened the thread is to pass on info about Akure.

Oh sorry, this is a thread that won't allow you beat your hairy chest as the most powerful in Africa. Lol.
This just shows the SW is on a wonderful and progressive course, and it remains the most valid destination for investors. Now I know what Aliko Dangote saw in the region.

OP used 2006 estimate for Benin City but 2014 for a place like Aba. Luckily, I have been around Nigeria and there is no way Aba has more people than Benin City.

undecided

I am not really happy with the population of my SW, people with little or no value keep trooping to the already congested SW, I think the governors should go back to the drawing board and start doing what fashola did two years ago by deporting people from other regions maybe to upper iweka over heard bridge, kano central park. etc. grin

Re: List Of Nigerian Cities By Population by benson730: 4:59pm On Jan 07, 2016
Why are they scared of adding sate of origin or tribe in the survey...they will be shocked that the Igbos are far higher in number...we make up 60 %of the population of Lagos. So check 6o%of 24.9 million in Lagos, add it to the total number of those in south east of which 99% are Igbos....do the maths .

Re: List Of Nigerian Cities By Population by MXrep: 8:18pm On Jan 07, 2016
Igbos live in autonomous communites. Each city is meger between numerous towns that maintain a separate identity. For Eg, Modern Onitsha is no longer limited onitsha main town which makes Onitsha North and south LG since the city has swallowed numerous neighboring towns such as Nkpor(Idemili LG), Ogidi (Idemili LG), Obosi (Idemili LG), Nkwelle (Oyi LG), Nsugbe (Oyi LG), Oba (Idemili LG), Odekpe( Ogabaru LG, This is where Onitsha naval outpost is located). etc with dense concentration of highrise appartments but they maintain their original comunity and are not counted as part of Onitsha, but in other places, they all adopt a single name and counted as one entity. Onitsha and its evirons is the most populous part of igboland.
PIC Obosi and Nkwelle: Every body calls this places Onitsha except those in the know, but during census their data is captured as seperate entities

Is lagos as a whole a state or city? Cos the op just stated the population of lagos state including all the villages and cities in it. And moreover this a very wrong info. It's just a blind guess. No true census in Nigeria. After all during the last election the total votes cast in lagos was not up to three million. And the number eligible voters was not up to 5 million, so where are the people hiding. I will only take data that emanate from Nigeria serious only when it's citizens has national Id and Id numbers. There are so many discrepancies in this info. Imagine ugep in cross river state more populous than awka and Uyo which are state capitals. How many banks or high rise buildings are in ugep?
