The Port Harcourt figure was grossly underestimated. They left left out whole communities and estates in their census then. In fact some enumerators selected houses to go to , and places they thought were safer. I think it was just a ploy our useless politicians to under populate the SS, and give the SW/North bloated figures. we all know the reason why. |

Lagos is a state! So the proper thing to do is pick locations (towns eg Epe, Ikeja) within Lagos, otherwise you can as well write Rivers instead of Port Harcourt... 11 Likes |

Without defining Nigerian standard of what should be a city, then the census figures remain questionable. A place like Amaigbo or Okrika is but a densely populated rural settlement IMHO while Onitsha is beyond the 2 major LGAs and has deeply encroached into Idemili North/South and Ogbaru.. 2 Likes |

Abagworo: By Nigerian standards every LG Headquarters is considered an urban area. Likewise any settlement with a population above 15k. However what population qualifies to be called a city is ambiguous. |

(only on abia) Aba is grossly under estimated. Aba is made up of 7 highly dense LGAs. Umuahia, ohafia and aro chukwu in abia state have population density between 200000-500000 and i wonder who did this unreliabble population estimates because it is never a census. I think states should embark on its own census as a preliminary to the national census. False figures like this affect investment, planning and other necessary factors |
