Please help me to ask the driver this question:

1. Is it not better u carry the load twice than taking ur motor to mechanic workshop resulting to much expenses now wey e don break??

You won't understand if you are not in the business. Lets do a few practical calculations here are see how feasible you suggestion is.

If he buys the drinks from coca cola at Ikeja and transport them to VI, that would be about 20miles one way drive. A One ton (US) truck like that can only carry about 70 crates.

Each crate weighs 12kg: ( I bottle weighs Ikg x 12 bottles in a pack)

Convert 1 ton (US) to Kg you have = 908kg.
Divide 908 by 12 = approx 70 crates.

Now here is the implication:
If he takes two trips from VI to Ikeja (20miles one way) that will be 20 x 4 = 80miles

A truck like that normally gets 20mpg. Put into consideration delay in traffic,it goes down to say 15mpg.

So he uses 80 divided by 15 = 5.5gallons of fuel (21 liters). The cost of 21liters at #100 per liter is 21 x 100 = #2100.

Therefore if he sells with a profit margin of #50 per crate on 70 crates, his profit will be #3500. (Transportation not included).

Subtract #2100 (transportation) from #3500, he will have #1400 left instead of #2500 if he was to go only once.

Unfortunately, things happen so we can't blame him.
