Back then in secondary school, many people in my class were "regular customers" in the staff room! They were brought to the staff room either for incomplete note, trouble making or other matters. The first time I was taken into the staff room is something I'll never forget in a hurry.

When we were in ss3, I was the laboratory prefect(I don't know what they actually saw that made them give me dat post). Our form master, Mr Tawab aka Obioma asked all of us to bring our parents phone number for reasons best known to him. Men in our class planned to be rugged in ss3 & I joined them, most of them gave Obioma their phone number while others forged numbers. I decided that I wasn't going to submit any number to him because with Obioma, expect the unexpected! He might just call my parents for my slightest mistake & my own go just finish if I reach house!

One faithful day in class, the guy just asked for the numbers, I told him I forget to collect the numbers because the previous day, we had a football match & I tore my foot & was taken to the hospital to sew my leg that was torn during the match, so when I got home I had serious pains & I didn't do my assignments. Obioma just started insulting me, when I hissed he told me to come to the front of the class, I limped to the front of the class & infront of all my classmate he asked me if I'm stupid & I told him "you said I'm stupid right?.... We just thank God for everything"; all my classmate burst into laughter & the guy told me to follow him, I thought he was going to report me to the principal but instead he took me to the staff room.
As we entered the staff room, he just started lying o! He said I was telling him that he can't do me anything, I making fun of him in class always, I was always making noise in class, bla bla bla....... I learnt through the regular customers of staff room that whenever you matter was tabled in the staff room, just be quiet, don't say anything
So as he was lying, I just kept quiet & was smiling. The teachers were surprised that I was smiling & I've never been brought to the staff room before. After Obioma was done talking, Mrs Odion said "Paul, what happened? You mean you did all this & you are smiling?" I said "thank you ma, may God bless you for that question" then I started explaining exactly what happened in the class to the teachers then Obioma interrupted me, out of anger I shouted "Let me talk!..... When you were talking, I kept quiet & I didn't interrupt you, now it's my turn, let me talk"
All the teachers were like "aaahhhhh! You are telling your teacher to shut up". Again I just kept quiet
My geography teacher called me & told me he would have flogged me if not for my injury because I was always loyal & he didn't expect what I said from me. Mr Owie aka Aboki started saying he'll report me to my father because my father is a well known man in my locality, immediately I Laughed because Aboki doesn't know my father, he only knows my street & he doesn't even know my house! The CRS teacher told me to go & apologise to Obioma, as I was about to do so, Obioma said "I don't want to see your face or even hear your voice, just go & write 2 foolscap sheet length letter of apology & submit it to me after break"
I left the staff room & when I entered my class, my classmate were like "Paul, wetin sup 4 Principal office?", Obioma walked into the class & I said "no mind am o, e just carry me go staff room go dey lie 4 my head", see laughter & he looked @ me, me just bone face cum tear 4rm my rough note cum wryt "I'm sorry for what I did, it will not happen again"...... Na so my letter take end o!
When I give am d letter, e dey look me, I jst bone face na em e cum say "if you like don't bring ur parents number 2moro" na em I say "4k u sir". D way I said it sounded lyk "tnk u sir".....

Mehn, staff room na hell!........ E no get tlk wey dem no tlk dat day, teachers wey no even teach me dey tlk put 4 matter wey no concern dem, na den I cum realise y e b say if girls enter staffroom, their eyes dey flood if dem enter class!...... Staffroom na den of devil......
