You might be wishing to have a taste of Apple Macintosh OS, due to comments by other people, but you might not have the money to purchase the minimum. As far as I know, the minimum Apple PC sells for a whooping #120,000, which can get you two brand new HP laptops.

For those who want to use Apple OS without buying the machine, then this post is for you. DO NOT HURRY INTO THIS, WITHOUT FIRST OF ALL, CHECKING WHETHER YOUR PC MATCHES THE REQUIREMENTS!

Things you'll be needing?

1. Niresh Mountain Lion OS 10 ISO

2. A blank DVD (get a new one)

3. ImgBurn (for burning the ISO to DVD)

4. MultiBeast (for installing drivers)

5. A compatible Laptop/PC (works with almost every laptop, except Nivida-powered processors)

6. A minimum of 2GB RAM

7. A hard disk of about 200GB and above.

If you have the above requirements, then you are good to go.

Time For Installation: 30Minutes

Difficulty: Average

Now, the first thing to do is to download the Niresh Mountain Lion OS 10 ISO to your PC- DOWNLOAD LINK=> http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/niresh-mac-osx-mountain-lion-10-8-5-iso-free-download/ ...File size is about 4GB. After downloading, proceed to download ImgBurn - DOWNLOAD LINK=> http://www.imgburn.com/ . After downloading, proceed to download MultiBeast => http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php

Once you have downloaded the above, then you are good to go. Make sure your PC is charged 100%.

STEP 1

Install ImgBurn, as this is what we will be using to burn the ISO you just downloaded to the blank DVD. After installation, open the program and choose: "Write image file to disc". Locate the ISO you downloaded earlier and click on Burn. The program should do the rest and should complete in approximately 15 minutes.

STEP 2

If you're installing it on a Laptop:

- Unplug all USB-connected devices from your computer before you begin the setup (except your keyboard and mouse). A faulty external USB hard drive can cause your bootloader to give you EBIOS errors on startup.

If you're installing it on a desktop PC:

- Open up your computer and unplug any extra internal hard drives that your computer has, besides the hard drive that you're installing OS X on. (Just unplug the hard drive SATA cables from your motherboard.)

- If possible, connect your monitor to the DVI port of your computer's graphics. The Mac OS X installer sometimes has problems with HDMI and VGA.

STEP 3

Set up your motherboard

Boot Device - Change the boot device of your computer so that "CDROM" is first. You need to do this for Niresh to work. After you finish installing Mac OS X, you should change this setting back to default, so that "Hard Disk" is the first boot device (this optional, but it will speed up your boot times).

HPET - Change this to 64-bit.

SATA Control Mode (your BIOS might call this a different name) - This will probably already be set to "SATA", "IDE", or "RAID". Change it to "AHCI". Mac OS X only works with AHCI.

STEP 4

Install Niresh Mountain Lion

Insert the DVD your burned earlie into your computer's DVD drive, and restart your computer. If everything is okay, your computer will boot into Niresh instead of booting from your hard disk. You will then be able to view the black-and-white Niresh menu.

If you do not manage to reach the Niresh menu, check your motherboard's BIOS settings to make sure that the changes you made in Step 3 were properly applied.

At the Niresh menu, press the enter key (or return key) to start the OS X Mountain Lion installer. If you are trying to install OS X Mountain Lion on a computer using an AMD or Intel Atom processor, you'll have to type the boot flag "amd" (without quotation marks-- for AMD) or "atom" (without quotation marks-- for Atom).

STEP 5

Complete Mountain Lion OS X Installation

Once you've entered the OS X Mountain Lion installer, you will come up to a page that asks you for a "destination" for your Mountain Lion installation.

If you're installing Mountain Lion on a computer that has never been turned into a Macintosh before, the hard drive selection box will be blank. We'll have to fix that. To do this, start up Disk Utility, which is located under the Utilities menu in the top bar.

You need to use Disk Utility to erase a hard drive partition so that OS X Mountain Lion can install itself on it. In the sidebar of Disk Utility, choose the hard drive where you want Mountain Lion installed, and erase it by using the "Erase" tab.

During erasure, the format should be set to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

On the installation page for Mac OSX, the hard disk/disk partition should now be showing up. Select it, and then click the "Customize" button on the bottom left. One advantage of Niresh is that it allows you to install extra Hackintosh drivers and kexts, straight from the OS X Mountain Lion installer, without having to post-install it using MultiBeast.

You have to be extra careful here, because choosing a wrong kext (apple's nickname for drivers), you may end up in a Kernel Panic.

After you're done with the "Customize" page, install Mountain Lion. This will take at least 30 minutes.

Once installation is done, remove ISO DVD, and restart. At the boot screen, you'll see an icon for the hard drive where you installed Mountain Lion. Select it (use the arrow keys on your computer) and press "Enter". Mountain Lion will boot. Cheers! Wasn't that so easy?

Once again, if you get a kernel panic/loading error when you try to boot your new Mountain Lion installation (or if the installation simply won't start within 10 minutes), you'll need to enter some boot flags. To enter boot flags, manually restart your computer by pressing your computer's power button.

Common Boot Flags To Solve Kernel Panic?

-v

This is the mother of all boot flags. Entering -v into the bootloader turns on verbose mode, which is absolutely important for fixing any Mac OS issue. Verbose mode displays every single process that takes place during your bootup of Mac OS X and attemps to fix them for you.

-x

This command turns on safe mode. Mac OS X in safe mode ignores all kext files and boot settings except those which are absolutely necessary to booting the system. Safe mode is useful if you're trying to run the Mac OS X installer on a PC that's not compatible with Mac OS X or if you accidentally installed a kext file that's messing up your Mac OS.

UseKernelCache=Yes

This is used by Mac OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks to install kexts from the kernel cache, allowing Mac OS X to boot x3 faster. However, the kernel cache is turned off by default, and you have to enable it by using the boot flag "UseKernelCache=Yes" (without quotation marks).
