Palpable tension gripped Gbaramatu kingdom
and other parts of Warri, Delta State and the
Niger Delta region on Friday morning after
suspected militants blew up strategic pipelines
in Warri South West local government area of
Delta state.
Multiple explosions also rocked several oil
installations between Ikpokpo and Odidi flow
stations, mostly in Gbaramatu kingdom, barely
hours after a Federal High Court in Lagos
ordered security operatives to arrest Chief
Government Ekpemupolo.
Ekpemupolo, who goes by the alia of Tompolo,
is one of the founders of the Movement for the
Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). He
hails from Kurutie community in Gbaramatu.
It was gathered that the attacks started shortly
before midnight and lasted till the early hours
of Friday.
At the time of this report on Friday afternoon,
the Nation learnt that residents of the riverside
communities are fleeing in anticipation of
another bloody operation by the militants and
soldiers of the Joint Task Force. |

The federal Govt should make peace with those ex-militant, the oil revenue for the country will go down, we await "Cynthia Whyte" to claim responsibility on behalf of the group, I pity the police or Efcc, even army recuit dat will be sent to the creek to arrest Chief Government., kidnapping of oil workers will soon start.... 2 Likes |

From what I sense, this APC government is out to destroy any opposition. Bad in economic management. Brutal and blood sulking. Crazy and ready to whine. Prefers opposition than leadership. A clannish party. This is the perception of clear headed Nigerians. 4 Likes |

Buhari ones said he will make diz con3 ungovernable, n den came Boko haram. Eventually, after winning d election, he said he wont give every region equall treatment(5% for not voting for him). Yet he's using their oil to sevice his administration. Did Buhari think those boys were sleeping when he made those comments. Payback time I guess. 7 Likes |

Some body should rationalise what the hell is happening in Nigeria. A time will come when no one will know who they are supporting anymore, I mean, oil is less than $30 and someone somewhere knows perfectly that we ain't got any other source of revenue but had to go ahead to instigate and wake a sleeping lion. We all had been happy for the past years though we had only the BH guys to contend with but now it seems that that happiness will be cut short by darkhearted dick measuring contestants who are hellbent on ruining this country... who cares more about power than their people. I know that I am not making sense but.......... bleeps be to you...whomever==--- the skimmers, looters, backstabbers, jobbers, political devils, unrepentant grandfathers..their sons and daughters who lead us to this shithole we are in. 4 Likes |

This is what happens when the court is seen to be an arm of the tyranic leader People lose their trust in the system and ability to get fair hearing little by little Buhari is reversing all the progress we made If he thinks he can shoot Niger Delta Militants into submission he is on a long thing because we have been down this path before! Buhari will end up the weakest President we ever produced! 3 Likes |

I thought some people said that these militants can't do jack . A parasitic nation that depends on oil revenue from the Niger Delta to be seen being any way different from other war torn African countries be making noise all over the place - Ya'll should wait until you buy a liter of fuel for 1000 naira to get the message. Tompolo, please initiate the economic meltdown fast fast ,let's see how odorless fufu will save us now. It's time to depend on Cocoa, Groundnut pyramid and Commerce to feed this ungrateful country. 6 Likes |

The rule of law and their fundamental human rights has made them blow up pipelines too. We are watching 1 Like |

VintageCocktail: Perhaps they think if they forment trouble in the Niger-delta oil prices will rise but they forget that supplies from Saudi Arabia, Iran and Russia will flood the market anyway! US has drastically cut down her oil import because of internal oil sourcing and fracking while the slow down in the Chinese economy is also slowing down their oil imports So anyone thinking war in the Niger-Delta will improve oil prices is wasting their time. Nigeria's production line will be shut out at a time that oil prices will continue dropping anyway! The future is really bleak!!! Buhari is a curse to Nigeria! 2 Likes |

[s] krendo:[/s] No matter how hard you rationalize stealing and corruption you will never succeed in holding Nigeria back from prosecuting criminals and crooks who plunder our wealth. Shut down the oil Nigeria will arise other exports, keep destroying your lands, you will be the first victims of your own foolery. Nigerians know the curse afflicting them, people who create the enabling environment for corruption to thrive, the corrupt and the foolish wailing zombie who defend them senselessly. 1 Like |
