Some people are looking for just that 3k out there. Do you know what, call him. Feel over excited, thank him, shout, pray for him very well and end the call. All what some people need to keep on blessing some people is gratitude without sounding greedy. That alone would make him do better next time. Eni ba dupe ore ana, ari oni gba 27 Likes |

Nigerians and their sense of entitlement, do you know how many people expecting something from him? He bought cars worth millions and so? It's his money not yours, if you don't need the money, give it to someone that needs it. No be only 300k, money grows on trees . 18 Likes |

Ungrateful wretch.Give you 100k because u r the only medical doctor in the world abi you are coming out with distinction in your viva. Even if it was 500 naira you should say thanks and move on at least he gave you something. He probably has 5 or 10 of you he's giving stuff. You are probably looking at his cars and expecting him to give you plenty because you are his only priority. Can't wait for you to start earning so we know how much you'll be giving others. Till date even if someone gives me £5 I am very grateful because the person didn't have to give me a pin. Better change.. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Nigerians and this ridiculous sense of entitlement is absurd, whatever happened to being grateful? Someone irrespective of family affiliation or financial status gifts you freely with no strings attached and all you can do is wonder if it was a mistake because the amount is meager? Stop being ungrateful and greedy!!! Afterall you did not have extra #3000 to spare prior to his gift.. Call you uncle immediately, if possible pay him a visit and sincerely express gratitude for the gift, go home and thank God for the gift. And if by chance you are still ungrateful, please look for an orphanage home donate the cash another option is since you are medical student visit any public hospital and gift the money to a suffering patient and watch showers of blessings rain on your Uncle. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

I suggest u don't call him... just send him an SMS thanking him of the 3k he gave u. make sure u mention the amount.... and add God bless u sir... The thing is that he owe you nothing. .. but it would have been better if he has given you moral support instead of rising your hope up then he used 3k to smash it like submarine smasher.... I found the whole thing amusing..... 2 Likes |

Being a cheerful giver and gracious receiver are virtues. @OP, even though you appeared like someone with sense of entitlement complex (which is a bad attitude - never expect but accept ), yet your grievances on this particular issue is understandable. But don't cast aspersions on your uncle yet, his action could be an aberration. If I were you, I would write not call, to thank him and in the cause of it mention the amount received. E.g. "uncle thanks for your kindness, I got the 3,000.00 (three thousand naira you sent to me)." Then, after he received your message, ' if it was an aberration on his part he would correct it, but if otherwise you accept it in good faith, too. 1 Like |

Re: Should I Call My Uncle by Prettiepearlz(f): 11:20am On Sep 10, 2016 |
Hmmmmmm, human beings and their sense of entitlement. I will sound harsh. Why do you feel you deserve 300k? Is he your father? Are you the only person studying medicine? (because from your post, you haven't been inducted yet). He is your uncle, he can give you whatever he feels he can part with. You make me laugh you know, you want to call him because he sent you 3k instead of 100k or more that you were expecting, can't you see that you are ungrateful. Although sometimes it can be disappointing but you have got to be grateful because if he chooses not to send you money, there is nothing you can do about it. After all you didn't request for money he gave you out of his own free will. So if he bought cars worth millions of naira, is it your money? Young man you had better be grateful for all you have got, concentrate on your project and make yourself a fine doctor and also make some money for yourself, many are willing to have an uncle who would even send them 1k and you are here complaining. Na wa ooooooooo. 3 Likes |

So your uncle is in trouble for calling you and sending you money money you never asked for, but he just thought to send you a little something that as a student you can buy meat pie and maltina and probably watch a movie and just chillout have fun You see why some people abroad keep a good distance from some relatives People forget that its not just about you. What if he has 10 nephews and his wife also has 10 nephews; at N3k per person is that not 60K on someone who has just returned from the UK and it trying to settle down? Meanwhile I am sure your uncle has kids, How many times have you offered to take his kids out (assuming they came back with him) or buy them gala or even go to assist him as he is settling down in his new environment? When he was abroad, how many times did you send chin chin or even one of those N100 Nigeria current affairs books to his kids? . . . Your cousins How do you even know that he was a successful lawyer in the UK? Call your uncle and thank him. He could have chosen not to give you a penny. And if you feel that the money is useless to you, please give 30 beggars N100, N100 Naira each. They will all eat and all pray for you. 3 Likes |

It's one thing to say or think that the 3k is small. It's another to actually have a figure you expect from him. Like 100k-300k. Dude seriously? The only people who owe you a thing in this world are your parents. And that is only until you're 18. After then whatever they do for you is a bonus for which you should be immensely grateful. People pls. |

Parents sef no owe their pikin anything. Lots of parents that do not care about their children. For those of us that has caring parents, please be grateful. Nobody owes you anything (parents inclusive) in this world. We need to be more grateful and stop this entitlement nonsense. As tearoses said, this is one of the reasons peeps in the abroad (@ home sef), distance themselves from their relatives. Fesomu, please change. Call your uncle and genuinely show appreciation. Assist him whenever you can. Who knows, he might even hook you up with juicy employment or business. cococandy: 1 Like |
