Olisa Metuh, was accused of "RECEIVING" N400 million and his bail bond was set at N400 million. He was HAND CUFFED.
Why?
The Publicity Secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
 
In a move different from the previous arraignment of others suspects in the ongoing investigations and arraignment in court in the Dasuki arms deal, Metuh was brought to court in handcuff. 
 
Wearing a Chinese Chairman Mao-style suit, Metuh appeared in court spotting unkept white beard and looking generally weather beaten. 
 
After a long argument back and forth by defence lawyers led by Mr Chris Uche (SAN) and the lawyer representing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Sylvanus Tahir, the presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang, granted bail to Metuh on conditions seen as unusually stringent.
 
Ruling on the bail conditions, Justice Abang asked Metuh 
to deposit N400 million bail bond, two sureties who must have properties in Maitama area of Abuja, and who must also deposit N200 million each. His international passport is also to be deposited with the court.
 
Facing a 7-count charge, Metuh is alleged to have received N400m from the the Office of National Security Adviser when Col Sambo Dasuki held sway. 
 
The case was adjourned till January 25 for further hearing.
