If you were born and bred in Nigeria, then I am 100% sure that you heard these very hilarious nigerian myths and most likely believed them; Funny enough, there are some we have not disbelieved even as adults. Here is a list of common nigerian myths that were used to deceive almost all Nigerian kids.

1) India once beat Nigeria in a football match 99-1.The ball turned to lion each moment a Nigerian footballer wants to kick the ball. The Indians later agreed that if Nigeria could score a goal, they would concede defeat. Samuel Okwaraji scored the winning goal and lost his life in the process. FIFA banned India from soccer because they used juju in that game.
THE TRUTH
The match never took place, not to talk of the fables they say. Sam Okwaraji died of heart failure on August 12, 1989 at 77th minute of the World Cup Qualifying match against Angola. The last time India played in the World Cup was 1950 Fiasco not because they are banned but because they do not play well to qualify for world cups since then. - See more at http://www.panachenation.com/2016/01/3608/
