I’ve seen several armed robbers/kidnappers paraded on TV, Newspapers, Internet etc. I never knew I had one as a neighbor till a week ago . When I got the alert of the update of this thread https://www.nairaland.com/2873360/kidnappers-feed-victims-soft-drinks-biscuits on the front page, I had no interest in opening it at the moment because there were volumes of threads on the front page I was yet to go through due to my non active on the forum for few days. After the close of the day’s activities, while relaxing in the evening, I was trolling the forum and stumble on a post. The poster was teasing Nigerian girls; he said Nigerian girls will choose to make the 6 packs their priority on the thread instead of the topic of discussion. Being a sucker of 6 packs , I looked at the topic which reads “Kidnappers feed their victims with soft drinks and biscuit”. Immediately, I remembered same thread was on the front page earlier in the day. I quickly scrolled up and the reading began. After reading the 1st – 3rd paragraph and few lines on the 4th, I lost my patience of reading everything before viewing the attached picture. So I scrolled down. Behold, what I saw brought hot tears down my face. Despite the fact their faces were blurred, I was able to recognize Lucky . To be sure my eyes were not deceiving me, I called the attention of my siblings to confirm my suspicion and it turned out positive. ... |

... Before the report was shared on Nairaland on 18th January 2016, we learnt of his arrest on 11th January 2016 when the peace of the neighborhood was disturbed by the presence of armed policemen on a convoy of three police vans and a Toyota Camry which belonged to the suspect (Lucky). The commando manner the vehicles were driven into the neighborhood brought everybody to their feet and sent others into hiding. To the amazement of all, Lucky, who was seen yesterday (10th January 2016) was led into his compound/apartment from one of the police van on handcuff. He was leaping; his face and body covered with bruises; obviously from sever torture. While the search on his apartment was on, we engaged one of the officers standing guard outside in a conversation. We: Officer, abeg watin apen? Officer: Nor mind dat yeye boy, him na kidnapper. He and his gang dey give us headache. Abeg make una give me water take wash my hand. Hia! Lucky, kidnapper? Was the question on everyone’s lips after the exit of the Policemen and of course with Lucky and some of his properties. ... |

... Prior to his arrest and confessional statement, rumors have been going on about him being an armed robber; this I have never believed because he was too quiet and calm to be one, so I thought. He does not behave toutish as I believe arm robbers ought to behave, though his apartment is sometimes full with his friends but they don’t misbehave nor disturb the neighborhood with loud music nor exhibit any character that will make them be view as a treat to the neighborhood. The only time I’ve seen him violent was when he said his money (100k) was stolen from his apartment and his prime suspect was his sister. With tears in his eyes that day, he brought out a keg of fuel and ran out of the house toward his sister’s store and threatened to burn down the shop but he was overpowered by his friends and onlookers and he was calmed down. Since he moved into our neighborhood, his type of trade has been a bone of contention between me and my siblings; I believe other neighbors might have felt same way. Though I once suspected him to be into internet scam (yahoo boy) but after careful observation and analyzation of him between me and my siblings, we were convinced he was not a yahoo boy because we’ve never seen him with a laptop or any expensive gadget nor does he run his gen abnormally (24/7). Even after we were convinced he was not a yahoo boy, what he does for a living remains a puzzle to us. So we concluded he is a beneficiary to his elder brother who’s based abroad and owns the building he’s staying and probably planning of sponsoring him out of the country too because he does not appear as someone who’s ready to take up an employment. ... 1 Like |

... Few days after the celebration of the New Year, he came home with a Toyota Camry car. On enquiry, he confirmed to be the owner of the car. He was congratulated. We further praised his brother we suspected to be the one sponsoring him. The same brother came back from his base in preparation of their late mother’s burial. We thereafter concluded that he bought the car for Lucky to aid their moving around during the preparation and burial of their late mother. How wrong we were. I must say he really tried coding his line of ‘business’ to the extent that even if the IGP was his next door neighbor he would not have been able to detect the inhuman business he was into. Why am I writing this? Let’s say, am pained, surprised, disappointed and also to advise us all that no matter the situation or condition we finds yourself, CRIME IS NOT AND NEVER THE ANSWER! If someone had told me Lucky was capable of doing what he did according to his confessional statement, I would not have believed. He was such a quite, handsome and respectable youngman. He was also paraded on a local TV station yesterday. No one but the law knows his fate now |
