An Akure based legal practitioner-Mr. Adesoji Adedeko was alleged to have been grievously brutalised last Thursday evening by the men of the Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps who allegedly invaded his residence around 10pm last Thursday 21st January, 2016.

The lawyer was alleged to have secured bail for one of his clients in a matter being handled by the NSCDC in Akure but, according to the NSCDC, failed to produce the client when required to do so. Hence, the officers and men of the NSDCD allegedly invaded the lawyers home in about 15 trucks around 10pm, rough-handled him in the presence of his wife and kids and also threw him down from his storey building, in the process the lawyer was severely wounded.

This incident is presently generating a furore with the legal and security circles in Ondo State to the extent that the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) -which is the umbrella association for lawyers, has vowed to ensure that the incident is thoroughly investigated and the officers involved brought to book.

This dastardly act of police brutality now spreading across the other paramilitary agencies must be checked. hnmn, guguru (sorry civil ) defence quickly catching up with police excesses.
