In as much as I am in support of Wike winning the case at the supreme court, I want us to look at two major reasons why we should be happy with the judgement in a non partisan view.
1. It has saved us some money: This judgement has saved not only Rivers state but Nigeria as a whole some money. Everyday we keep crying no money, economy is dry yet some people were still advocating for a re run. A re run election in Rivers state will gulp millions if not billions of Naira as both leading contending parties will fight to the last to claim the state and the irony of it is that tax payers money will be used. This is turn will make whoever wins to use the re-run election in giving excuses of no money when it is time to work.

2. Loss of lives: If Bayelsa with only 8 LGA's could claim as much amount of lives as it did in the last election, imagine how many lives Rivers state with 23 LGA's would have claimed. The election would have been a do or die affair for both parties with the citizens as casualties. For my family here we were already thinking of leaving the state till the election is over. If not for anything else, we should be happy that the supreme court has spared us another round of blood shed.

Considering what happened in Beyalsa and knowing Rivers would have been worse with many lives destroyed as APC would have made it a fight to finish but God pass them, he has nullified all their plans against my people.

Moreover the law is not supposed to act in futility knowing WIKE is still far more popular than DAKUKU,hence the result would have been d same. So why waste d meagre funds available on some futility. Come to think of it THIS IS THE TRUE POSITION OF THE LAW... Indeed the judiciary is still the last hope of the common man.

Only reason to be happy is if he truly won... That means democracy stands even in the face of opposition!
