Nigeria Hits 5,000MW Power Generation Mark 03 Feb 2016 Font Size: a / A 211014F-Electricity-Distrib.jpg - 211014F-Electricity-Distrib.jpg Chineme Okafor in Abuja The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Wednesday disclosed that Nigeria has, for the first time in the history of her electricity generation, generated about 5,074 megawatts (MW) of electricity. The TCN through its System Operator department, announced this new milestone Wednesday in Abuja. It stated that it was pleased to announce the attainment of the new record peak generation of 5074.7MW as well as the highest maximum daily energy of 109,372 megawatts hour (MWH) which it wheeled across the country. My inverter batteries are weak,, my Gen is getting worn out due to lack of electricity supply.. Yet this Mongo Park's are telling me they reached 5,000MW....nonsense 3 Likes |

Power supply in my area has improved though we have outages from time to time. Anyone living around odili road area in PH should be able to attest to this... 1 Like |

We should thank former President Goodluck Jonathan for this achievement as these improvement were brought about by investment and policies made by Eng Barth Nnaji and Eng Chinedu Nebo who were the then ministers of power |

this your update go make dem reduce the megawatts if militant or bad belle hear am.. Na so we hear am for jonathan administration, na so the power com drop to 2550 meggawatts. Nigeria still dey fvck up. Meanwhile some people no get light for them area. So no need for dis thread to enter fp cos na the same tori everyday.. |

It has improve in Ajah, Lekki, Lagos. I even thought other areas had issues cos if they even take the light the maximum time interval is 30mins - 1 hour. I never knew mega watts was increased. |

Has it entered national grid.. Ofcourse not, so light has improved campaign has nothing 2 do with 5000BW achieved... I just pray the capital projects of this administration with tackle power generation 1st, distributionn supply will b dealt with accordingly |
