If you’ve never heard of the AG Mobile, you are not alone. South Africans however are very familiar with this brand as it has been operating there for quite some time now and AG Mobile is looking to expand its horizons by introducing the AG Ghost and others to Nigeria. AG Mobile seems to focus exclusively on the budget sector for now.

Their flagship however is the AG Ghost with mid-range specs such as a 5.5inch HD display and 2GB RAM. Check out the full specs on http://Crunchng.com. The Ghost is going to rival the likes of the Infinix Note 2 and the Tecno Camon C8.

You can get the already get the AG Ghost on Konga for 47,000 Naira

Other phones are to be released too and not just the AG Ghost. Coming with the Ghost are the AG Style, AG Boost, and lastly, AG Zoom. Pretty funny names if you ask me. The AG Style is a budget device with a quad-core cpu, 1gb RAM, and a 1900mAh battery is mediocre.

Even worse is the The AG Zoom which features a dual core CPU, 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. There’s also a 2MP rear camera and a 1450mAh battery. The AG Boost is almost exactly similar bar the 3.2MP camera and 1350mAh battery.

With these kinda specifications, there is very little chance of any of AG Mobile’s devices gaining traction in Nigeria. Infinix and Tecno already have the market in their pockets with cheap phones with far better specs than anything AG Mobile is offering.

Regarding the expansion to Nigeria, Company founder and current CEO, Anthony Goodman explains the move:

"While our initial marketing roll-out covers Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Kano, our reach is national. Our Android, feature-rich devices are available online via Jumia, from MTN and Ringo outlets, as well as independent dealers across the country. We’re also completing the installation of our first retail space at the Ringo Arena in the Computer Village in Lagos and will be rolling-out similar outlets where customers can experiment with live devices before they purchase them. Any repair issues will be administered at an in-country repair centre."

It seems that they’ll feature good customer support but we’ll have to wait to find out exactly how good. Prices of their phones range from 45,000 naira downwards with the Ghost being their most advanced.

they will buy the phone themselves, to beat the likes of tecno gionee and infinix in nigeria they must start from bottom with a phone with lower prices and good battery.

Not only good battery, they need to have a large RAM, internal memory, and good camera. The specs and price of this phone are jus too ridiculous, nobody will buy such crappy phones with useless specs. They better go back and do a market survey of the country they're about to import their toys to else they will crash upon landing.
