Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, last month granted amnesty to Okon Akpan, a 64-year-old prison inmate, who had served in Ikot Ekpene prison for 25 years. The governor granted freedom to the inmate under his power of prerogative of mercy during his visit to Ikot Ekpene medium security prisons.

Emmanuel Udom charged Akpan to go and commit no more crime, stressed the need for proper upbringing of children through sound moral guidance to make good citizens.

Served 25 years in prison.... Waow.

When this kind of man comes out and see things like mobile phone and laptop , he will keep asking questions till December about why you are talking to your hands and what kind if slate is showing pictures.

When he gets home and finds TV on the wall...yepa! he"ll jump to rescue it from falling .....if he happens to stay in an area where some exoctic cars are....he'll simply call the prison warden for help to return him back to his planet.

He must have been so backward after 25years, summary....do our prisons really serve the many purpose of reformation which it was built to??

His neighbors should beware of him.

He can still commit rape, steal, burglary, robbery and murder because his affinity to prison where he has made friends with criminal is stronger than the zoo where he is going to suffer stigmatization.
