This is for the benefit of Africa...and China. What does China really want in return?...Africa's natural resources. As they help us build...they would be harvesting our oil, timber, fish , minerals and maybe taking our land to establish tourist areas and build exclusive homes or communities....one hand gives and the other receives. The one thing I'm afraid of is industrialisation....with that comes pollution as we see in China. They are struggling to control it and the resulting health issues despite all their finances and technology. How would we deal with that? But don't believe for a minute the Americans would sit back and watch China gain access to such resources....they would be coming too....maybe under the cover of fighting terrorists or diseases. After all....didn't they send the Marines to help fight the spread of Ebola?...and since Ebola has been contained do you really believe the Marines left? We should now know what to expect. |

litetias:China?...level of corruption?.... bro ...when corruption is uncovered in China... the guilty ones are executed...as in the executives of the baby formula company who add some stuff to their product to beat quality tests and resulted in the death of some babies...as in the case of executives that received bribes from big companies to secure land. |

erusen:I have not been there but with education you don't have to go to a place to know all about it. Communism claims to be about the people but its essentially about a few fascists restricting the freedoms and rights of the plenty. Look at Russia Putin has been at the top forever controlling the country like his property. Look at China when all world powers are sanctioning Mugabe for being in power since time immemorial China are supporting him. Study the government of China, a government that tells you how many children to give birth to then you will know communism is slavery of the people 1 Like |

Originalsly:Nigeria's corruption is a learner where China is. If you are within the top echelon of the Communist Party of China you steal till you get tired because no media can expose you. They clamp down on all freedom of media, speech, association and whatnot. China and North Korea are in the same communist boat. The only difference is China allows you to come into their country if you promise to obey their dictates while North Korea is just an hermit state i.e. you are not welcome at all. This week when earthquake hit Taiwan, China offered to help but Taiwan said no we don't need your help because you give with one hand and collect with two hands. |

The US would rather see the entire continent starve to death or die of incurable disease than let the Chinese get a hold of African resources Originalsly: |

litetias:What year China are you talking about? No freedom in China...like North Korea...and Chinese are travelling to and from around the globe? There is a lot of freedom in China....freedom to associate..religious freedom to a certain extent... freedom to travel , to establish businesses etc and freedom of speech to a certaim extent. A communist state does not allow such freedoms. The one thing about China.... do your thing but when it comes to politics....keep off. |

erusen: Government don't create industries. How many times do Nigerians need to know that government Enterprises don't last? Where in the world do you see government related industries that perform optimally? At the bolded, unfortunately, agriculture isn't the answer to our diversification policy. Why? Mechanized agriculture produces so much in value but less in earnings and profits. Agriculture wouldn't employ as much persons as you think. The United States has the most developed agricultural system, yet it constitute 3% of the labour force employed. Ditto for the Netherlands and Brazil, these countries can adequately feed Nigeria but the agricultural sector doesn't employ much. What Nigeria needs is aggressive industrialization like China did 30 years ago. |
