The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have
revealed that they will inspect facilities and
equipment at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium,
Kaduna ahead of next month’s 2017
Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between
Nigeria and Egypt.
The Ahmadu Bello Stadium has been
proposed by the NFF to host the crucial
encounter and despite protest from Super
Eagles » coach Sunday Oliseh, the Glass
House are going ahead to inspect the
stadium.
According to a report on the NFF website,
General Secretary of the body, Dr. Mohammed
Sanusi , revealed that the body will inspect the
facilities on Thursday, February 11.
Facilities to be inspected according to Sanusi
include playing pitch, dressing rooms, proposed
training pitches, scoreboard, sanitary facilities,
spectator stands and media facilities.
“We will inspect the facilities alongside officials
of the Kaduna State Government and the
Kaduna State Sports Ministry and Football
Association. There is the need to put everything
in top shape ahead of this big match," the
Sanusi said.
“The NFF will interface with the Kaduna State
Government on the areas that need to be
improved upon. We will also jointly put in place
a flawless medical and security plan for the
match.”
The Super Eagles will take on Egypt at the
Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Wednesday,
March 23 with the return leg to be played in
Egypt five days later.
This will be the third game of the 2017 AFCON
with Nigeria second in the Group G table with
four points.
Super Eagles won their first match at home 2-0
against Chad before their draw 0-0 away at
Tanzania in September.
Egypt are on top of the group with maximum
six points after beating Tanzania at home and
Chad away.
