If you are African and have an English name will you change it to something from your culture? If you can't change your own name, will you nevertheless give your child an English name? This guy's family has been in Kenya for donkey years. His name is Thomas Cholmondeley. . . Not a Kenyan name. the name Cholmondeley is originally French (Norman). |

That was a gem Tpiah! This is his earliest "British" ancestor; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Cholmondeley_(soldier). He was indeed a Norman! So they kept their original French name through about 500 years in England and are doing the same now in Kenya. |
