Senator Ben Bruce recently today took to Twitter to criticize President Buhari's cabinet and political appointments, focusing on the average age of people in public offices and comparing them with what is obtainable in the United Arab Emirates, pointing out the fact that youths are neglected and not involved in government.

Though what he said is true to a point, but the, one should not forget our constitution which states that the minimum age to be a minister in Nigeria is 30 years old, and the minimum for senate is 35 so as Nigeria is presently constituted, you cannot be 22 and be a minister, what move has Senator Ben Bruce made to foster the amendment of that particular constitution since he became a lawmaker, and, judging by his own assertion, he should not be a senator since he is above 45 and which, he is actually above 60 years and still aiming to go higher in politics. This shows that Ben Bruce is not only a hypocrite, but on a sneaky mission to appeal to the minds of the Nigerian youths,posing as their saviour and hoping to get either the Governor, Presidential or Vice slot in the next coming elections.

There are thousand of youths out there, which am among and happen to know many who would want to be in politics and contribute their own quota to the government and the country if given a chance, but that's near impossible because of old men like Ben Bruce who do not want to step down, If Ben Bruce so believed in youth involvement that much how come he hasn't mentored one and backed him with mouth and money to become a senator instead of him. Are there no youths or even just one that can run in his place as a Senator in the whole of Bayelsa, while he advice's and directs the fellow? He complains about everything and yet he's part of that very thing which he complains about. Mr Ben Bruce, its bad enough that you are sitting on our seat and taking our rights away, stop trying to incite the youths against the government for your cheap aim by painting the government bad and claiming to be on our side, when you are also among the problems hindering the progress of the youths.

Ben Bruce has the power to do these things he always comes online to whine about, why does he not do them, was he appointed to be a Twitter Senator (I have tried so hard not to use that popular title of his and address him through out this write up, but I just have to).

Senator Bruce is just a politician. We need more articulate public figures in Nigeria. Of course this does not mean that you have to base your decisions or followership on his political statements. He has no real grassroots depth. He is better with the progressives either in APC or PDP
