What is sin?
Sin according to the dictionary is seen as a misdeed, a violation of moral or religious law, an error. But the actual meaning of sin is actually catastrophic than just the dictionary meaning.
In our textbook(bible) it gave us a clear understanding about sin. It says sin separate us from our maker, our God, our father. Isaiah 59vs1-2. which says " BEHOLD, THE HAND OF THE LORD IS NOT SHORTENED, THAT IT CANNOT SAVE; NOR HIS EAR HEAVY, THAT IT CANNOT HEAR. BUT YOUR INIQUITIES HAVE SEPARATED YOU FROM YOUR GOD; AND YOUR SIN HAVE HIDDEN HIS FACE FROM YOU, SO THAT HE WILL NOT HEAR.
Sin was what our early ancestors committed that made God farther away from them. Sin is a distraction, it is a virus that destroys our relationship with God. It makes God far from us. They were the first creation by God. God provided everything for them but gave an instruction. Genesis 2vs15-17 "THEN THE LORD GOD TOOK THE MAN AND PUT HIM IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN TO TEND AND KEEP IT. AND THE LORD COMMANDED THEM AND SAYING, " OF EVERY TREE OF THE GARDEN YOU MAY FREELY EAT; BUT OF THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL YOU SHALL NOT EAT, FOR IN THE DAY YOU EAT IT YOU SHALL SURELY DIE". sin is a breach of agreement. Even when they sinned our God is still merciful. Sin is a breach of trust, agreement.
Sin brought the wrath of God on man when he saw the wickedness of man in the earth. Genesis 6vs5-6
